I'm surprised Colin Kiernan didn't make any of the 3 All State teams.

Just noticed this other first team All Stater:
"First team: Peter Serruto, Millburn, 6-0, 190 lbs, catcher
The Rutgers-recruit has one of the best arms in the Garden State and gives base runners an absolute nightmare when trying to steal. He has a knack for coming up clutch for Millburn in the batter's box as well and batted .359 with 28 RBI."
We will not get over the Big Ten hump until we bolster the lineup with transfers and JUCOs who arrive as known commodities, mature players from baseball-fertile parts of the country. Until then, we are participating (not competing) with an arm tied behind our backs.
Neighboring baseball programs "get it" and build rosters to compete, not just participate. They beat the bushes for talent to fill their lineups. Rutgers recruiting is not near resourceful enough.
St. John has players from Daytona State College, Herkimer College, Monroe College, Sierra College, State College of Florida, North Essex CC, Irvine Valley College, Mercer County CC, and geographically -- NJ, RI, PA, FL, CA, CT, VT, MA, Canada.
Seton Hall has players from Brookdale CC, Miami FL, Frisco TX, PA, NY, NH, CT, and the Netherlands.
Compare Seton Hall and St. John recruiting efforts with our roster. The Rutgers coaching staff does not "get it".

All responses talking about the difficulty of landing and admitting JUCOs to Rutgers will be directed to file /dev/null.
Poppycock. Rutgers as per usual is behind the curve. Has nothing to do with academics. Better academic schools than Rutgers routinely go the JUCO & transfer route. Rutgers is unprepared to compete. Competing at the Div-1 level is not for the faint-hearted. And while we're at it ... when do we drop the recruit locally paradigm?
I just had a conversation with Roger Serruto. The Serruto family has a great legacy at Millburn HS for both baseball and wrestling. Should be a good pick up for RU.
