What we’re looking for is progress and being up at halftime is preferable to being down 24 at halftime, which is what we seemed we were for most of the Ash era.Being in the lead at half time is a moral victory. That’s not what we are looking for.

He's always all over the place. He seems to crave the attention and needs to get his opinions out there, or else he wouldn't put up such posts.Al what r u talking about in previous post you say that the next 2 years are free for GS. Now you are talking about 8-0. SMH
Everyone is free to get their opinion out there. That’s what this messageboard is for, to share opinions about Rutgers Football, otherwise, why are you here? He's always all over the place. They are free. Free to smash our opponents.Al what r u talking about in previous post you say that the next 2 years are free for GS. Now you are talking about 8-0. SMH
some seem to be seeking acceptance while arguing Rutgers can't win so don't say they will be winners.Everyone is free to get their opinion out there. That’s what this messageboard is for, to share opinions about Rutgers Football, otherwise, why are you here?

The line did well blocking against:Tangible progress is an OL that can actually block as a unit leading to better production.
Leading at halftime only to get stomped on is not. Final score was 52-17. Citing the halftime score is a moral victory.
The reality of the situation.I don’t care what Al predicts or how optimistic he is.
I simply point out the tangible things we would see if his optimistic post came to be.
I do question if we have that level of depth and talent
You put your opinions out much more than most.Everyone is free to get their opinion out there. That’s what this messageboard is for, to share opinions about Rutgers Football, otherwise, why are you here?
As is my prerogative. Nothings stopping you from doing the same. You put your opinions out much more than most.
some post a lot , some less. You put your opinions out much more than most.
As I already said, I don't take college football deadly seriously, unlike many others but clearly Al puts up posts he knows will get a reaction, and then he'll have to defend himself, even in posts that aren't addressed to him. Yet he does it again and again. You could argue it's a form of trolling.some post a lot , some less.
I imagine I'm in the a lot category, you might be in the same class when it comes to posting opinions.
It doesn't matter the amount if the messages are heard and not ignored.
If you didn't check out what Al thinks, you wouldn't be replying to him.
Don't get so upset, ignore function is for the posters that upset us and we don't want to see what their opinion is.
Stop complaining about what you obviously like to read and comment about

You're not, Nick. Al will hide behind this being "just his opinion" and "optomism" but he is absolutely a troll. His recent threads and posts within them aren't consistent or congruent. He gets off from these reactions.Wait.
If we have the potential to beat Michigan and start out 8-0, how are the next 2 years free because we don't have the talent yet to compete?
You can't say 8+ wins is possible but then also say 2 wins would be acceptable.
Am I missing something?
He just a drama seeking troll. He's always all over the place. He seems to crave the attention and needs to get his opinions out there, or else he wouldn't put up such posts.
Michigan fan here...I come by every year in July or early August just to see Al's unrealistic predictions and everyone's reaction to them. They are a pretty entertaining read every summer. Sounds like I need to come back during the season for his Upset Alerts. He just a drama seeking troll.
Other B1G fanbases laugh at his foolishness
1-11??? Really???We have great talent at the RB and WR positions, DL and finally some TEs. All bodes well. Unfortunately, its all wasted with Schiano not going to the portal to get us a quarterback. 1-11.
1-11??? Really???
For me the worst-case scenario is another 4-8 while the absolute overachieving would be 7-5.
My opinion.
We don’t need a quarterback when we have Wimsatt, with the necessary supporting talent, so that he can be successful. We have great talent at the RB and WR positions, DL and finally some TEs. All bodes well. Unfortunately, its all wasted with Schiano not going to the portal to get us a quarterback. 1-11.
Yes, look at our incoming MONSTER Class. We will have more talent to compete in two years, than we do this year. The team is getting progressively more talented as Greg Schiano turns over the roster.Wait.

You have to laugh because even the “monster” class is still ranked 8th in the conference and will like finish in the bottom half of the conference when all is finished. Then he will claim that rivals ranked the 120+ other teams correctly but only Rutgers players were underrated. He will then cite a guy like Rice who played 16 years ago how 2 or 3 star can turn into NFL stars while completely ignoring the 100s who didn’t.Is the OP the modern day version of Don Quixote?
Now he wants everyone to believe that RU’s talent is growing at a faster rate than the rest of the B1G.
If correct l, he’s basically making the case again for why Greg should be removed after another sub-500 season.
But of course this isn’t close to reality.
Just like playing in the Rose Bowl is disingenuous because they are called UCLA home games.
Yes he loves to twist reality. You have to laugh because even the “monster” class is still ranked 8th in the conference and will like finish in the bottom half of the conference when all is finished. What matters is where they’re drafted, not where they’re ranked as recruits, by non-coaches.You have to laugh because even the “monster” class is still ranked 8th in the conference and will like finish in the bottom half of the conference when all is finished. With better coaching, there is every reason to expect we will be much better at the fundamentals this year.Let's just start with the basics: blocking people, competent playcalling, and developing a QB that can throw passes in the same general area as the receivers.
As is my prerogative. Nothings stopping you from doing the same.
Impressive. I’ll be happy to send you a medal.Sadly, most of us are encumbered by personal pride and a reluctance to look foolish.
The next two seasons don’t matter, because we are still building the program. However There is enough talent to compete this year and next. Games will be played , and opportunities abound. So while we don’t have as much talent as we’d like to have, we do have a baseline of talent to be successful, thx to transfers.I’m so confused…. A month ago it was ‘the next 2 seasons don’t matter’ and now it’s 8-0 going into OSU..
This level of bi-polar makes my head hurt
Impressive. I’ll be happy to send you a medal.
I don’t think that has ever stopped OP…like ever! 🤣Sadly, most of us are encumbered by personal pride and a reluctance to look foolish.
You think Michigan is a potential win for us? They are probably the best team in the B1G.Not true. We can be competitive this year, while having a much better team two years from now. Just as the 2006 team was much better than the 2005 team.
Not sure why this is so difficult for you to understand.
For this year, Penn State and Ohio State are off the table. Every other game is an opportunity for us.
If you think there is enough legitimate talent on the roster to win the first 8 games then you are correct, it comes down to execution, and that is coaching. A free year to a head coach implies that there is not enough talent on the roster to legitimately win at that moment in time, you are telling us that is not true, therefore, using your own words and logic this is not a free year for Schiano. In fact, it is the very opposite according to you, there is a "baseline" of talent for you to believe that there are enough winnable games to have a successful season, anything short of that and the coach should be held accountable, period. This is P5 football my friend, not the Patriot League, if there is enough talent on the field to win and the current coach can't deliver a winner, it is time to consider making a change. The next two seasons don’t matter, because we are still building the program. However There is enough talent to compete this year and next. Games will be played , and opportunities abound. So while we don’t have as much talent as we’d like to have, we do have a baseline of talent to be successful, thx to transfers.
I see enough winnable games on the schedule, to have a successful season. Now, we have to execute.
