I know most are feeling we can't, but with Dylan, Ace, Lathan I think its possible.

I know it's ONE GAME SEASONS from now on...Humor me.

We MUST hold court, and win all 8 home games. We can, as we know, do it as the crowd alone WILLS this team.
There is alot of parody in the league, and we are dangerous at home. If we lose 1, can we steal the Michigan State games at the Garden?

4 more road wins. I have circled
Nebraska
Northwestern
Washington
Maryland

20 wins and a win in BIG10 Tourney does it, especially with 2 marquee players.

Let the bashing begin.

All these posts (by many different posters) are just exercises in counting to 20. I think most of us can count to 20.

I'm waiting for someone to actually explain how these games become wins. We just watched RU play playground ball on offense against Indiana. How many of Ace's shots were "give it to Ace and watch him shoot"?

Bailey shooting isn't the problem. The woeful defense/rebounding is the main reason for the double digit loss.

No bashing. It’s admirable you’re trying to figure it out. In reality we all want RU to do what you’re speculating. I’d be happy to eat crow. It’s just not realistic.

Not trolling you, just asking, how can we win? We don’t play D, we don’t rebound, we don’t move without the ball on offense, we don’t shoot the three or even FTs very well. Our options are lose close or lose big. And also the RAC hasn’t been that great for us the last two years now.

Again not

It's really not that complicated. Dylan and Ace have both improved since the beginning of the season. If they both play well at the same time, and we hit a somewhat reasonable number of free throws, we can beat any team in the country.

Honestly hard to argue, but thing is… we HAVE played well and rebounded at times, I’m thinking the offense will have to carry us I’m banking on Ace and Dylan with Lathan to bring the damn juice… nothing to loose!

We don't have a real offense and the defense and rebounding is woeful. The defense and rebounding has consistently been woeful and we are 45% thru our regular season.

We are not going to the tourney unless something changes. What's going to change and how is it going to change?

Honest question, can Dylan really play any better? He's been extremely impressive.

Do we do anything to help Ace offensively? 99% of his shots are contested, but he's really good shooter. He has to lead the country in long two-point attempts.

Asking for more from Lathan isn't fair to him.

It's possible to win a poker tournament by going all in every time you bet. It's not likely, but it can happen. We're close to being down to "a chip and a chair" - we'll need an extraordinarily improbable run of events.

@Greene Rice FIG you posted the efficiency rankings (right?) for Ace, which weren't pretty. Are you able to share how Dylan looks?

I don't see a world where Ace becomes as elite as Dylan at RU. He can't get to the rim and has to settle for contested long 2's off the dribble. Very few assists coming from Ace.

Ace becomes almost as elite as Harper
Moderate improvement in team defense
Some good luck in close games

I don’t expect it but I don’t think it’s totally impossible
I like it. I do have a small tweak that I can’t believe I’m going to say. I’m not sure moderate defensive improvement is possible for this unit. Mild maybe. But our strength is offense. I’m not in love with it, I miss the rock fights, but we want to win. We can’t be half in and half out. Beyond Ace and Dylan everyone has a ton of flaws, so stay with me before pointing out the weaknesses of these names. “Volume threes”. Acuff, Hayes and Martini are right up there with Dylan at 36-37% from three. Yet they’re 7, 9 and 10 in minutes. Flip the script. Get them on the court. Our D can’t get much worse. Surely with drive and kick and simple sets we can let Dylan and Ace work and get open looks with 1-2 of those other guys on the court constantly. Heck variations of the flex offense would get looks. I’m not suggesting that but come on. It can be done. Don’t half way it with personnel that may or may not provide some d but are very offensively inefficient. Go all in with threes and offense. You left the speed limit in the rear view. Don’t cling to it. Dylan, Ace, the 3 other 36%+ Trey shooters, a two headed center. That’s 7. Give me one more guy, tighten the rotation and go. The seasons half over. What we’re doing isn’t working. I know JMike, JWill and Dercack have their pros. And they have their cons. But the current minute distribution isn’t producing wins. Give me your thoughts good and bad. It’s just an idea.
