So an Ohio kid that can't go to OSU selects an ACC school just over the border to continue his football career. Well, he sure didn't pick the 'Cuse. Pitt is a better school and program.

Let me know the next time 'Cuse lands a top notch kid from NY, or anywhere else, over a B1G school.

PSU in an Eastern based conference wouldnt have worked the way the other eastern schools struggled after PSU joined the B1G. Miami gave Big East football some life for a decade. But if PSU had joined it probably wouldnt have lasted much longer.

Yep. Then PSU joined the premier all around conference in the land and Pitt gets upset they won't play them. Funny, because Pitt won't play WVU because there is absolutely nothing in it for Pitt. They don't want WVU anywhere near the WPIAL.

West Virginia being 18-12 vs Pitt since 1980 might have had alot to do with it as well.

30 years ago, Pitt was playing PSU annually and probably neither fan base could have envisioned the day when that would not be the case. But Pitt did set the stage for the current situation in 1981 by not joining with PSU, RU, and WVU in the push for an eastern all-sports conference and, instead, joined the Big East basketball conference. The failure of an all-sports conference to materialize is what sent PSU off to the B1G once the opportunity presented itself.

Do you have the smallest clue about Paterno's actions back then?? He wanted an all-sports conference where FB revenues weren't shared, but other sports revs were. When he got properly rebuffed, he applied to the BE in a futile attempt to bail out his BB program. The BE rejected his sorry ass....and then ASKED Pitt to join. Paterno was an egotistical liar. The pedophilia stuff showed how little he cared about anything but Paterno.
