Call your shot now. Will we be IN or OUT

I’ll start. I have faith in the talent assembled can pull it together

IN
I do and I don't. If you read my post in #'s thread, if Pike and Brandin Knight cannot teach a semblance of an offense to get our 3-point shooters involved with open looks by running plays for them, then I don't have faith that Pike will do what it takes to get this turned around. I also want Pike to play Hayes and Martini more, but when he plays them, have the team play zone so they won't get as exposed when we expect them to play tough man-to-man. They can't.

If Pike wants different and better results, he must change as well. Why bring in offensive pieces from the portal if you're not going to use them correctly? Pike has mismanaged those two kids and should also be heavily criticized for not getting us a solid and stable 5 in the portal.

His grind it out D doesn't work for this bunch. It's obvious now, and Pike and his staff need to figure it out fast if he's going to accomplish what this team is capable of, even after two really bad quad 3 losses.

Fix the rebounding to cut down on second chance points, and I’ll say we get in.

(Until we’re mathematically eliminated, the optimist in me refuses to see it any other way.)
No Quality’s. Call it

dude, call it

Out. No improvement on the defensive end and I can’t say I expect a massive jump in play from any of the role players. We’ll win a couple games we shouldn’t but won’t be able to string together wins with any consistency

We have way too many guys who have provided almost nothing (Martini, Hayes, Acuff) and we’ve more often than not showed we can’t rebound or defend.

And as good as Bailey and Dylan have been it would be asking too much of them to carry the whole team to the tournament.

Q1/2/3: 2-5
Road/Neutral: 1-5
Best win: Penn State
Bad loss: Kennesaw State
OOC win of note: none
Record vs current field: 1-3

NO
That’s not the question. Are they gonna be in or not. Call your shot

These guys need to play like a team and actually want to win. They clearly don’t based on how selfish everyone is playing. 40% of the way thru the season. They’re not capable of changing who they are. Out.

Agree with you, but I think we need to stop putting Ace and Dylan in the same sentence. They both cam in as highly touted recruits, and will most likely both leave as high first found draft picks. On the court one guy has NBA Starter/All Star written all over him, while the other can put points up, but is not efficient and the rest of his game needs a lot of work. Who would Ace be on a real competitive team like Duke or Kentucky? 8Pts/3 Rebs maybe?

I mean is this even worth discussing? This team will be 8-12 in conference (could be worse). 15-16 overall
In the downside, it’s possible this team is more like 6-14 and 13-18 overall.

They are both top 5 picks and Ace would be a 15/8 player at Duke. Maybe a few less shots but better quality looks. That is just a bunch of nonsense.

Not sure Ace will end up a top 5 pick - he is dropping. He is a much bigger project than most thought - he will be drafted on his measurables (height) and potential, not his actual on court play. A place like Duke has options and Next Man Up - we have next to zero options. Ace today is nowhere close to Dylan in terms of productivity and impact.

I’ll be very pleasantly surprised if we make it. Because right now I definitely can’t see it happening.
