Cam Newton - Does not dive for the FB

Ã

I just asked, was he the only one with headgear?

"Guess it was too much for Cam Newton to remove that black cap thingee he was wearing during the national anthem. But he’s just another who demands respect with little in return. Surprised he didn’t exploit the anthem to display his Gatorade money towel."

Should use that towel to cover his face. Love it when Goliath gets cut down to size.

Ah how soon we forget...6 years ago it was a 33 year old Peyton Manning who left the field before time expired in the Indianapolis Colts loss to the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl. He refused to shake any of the Saints hands after the game. He ended up calling Drew Brees on the phone later that night and Brees graciously let that slide as good sportsmanship.

If he dives for the ball he is admitting it's a fumble. The chance for a replay overturn goes from minimal to zero.

Don't remember Brady diving for the ball when the officials made up the tuck rule.

All you need to ask yourself is: "Would Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Ben Roethlisberger or Tom Brady have dove for that ball?"
As big a prima dona as Brady is, he is the king of qb sneaks. Even he is laughing at Newton.

So, you think it is ok to stand for the national anthem and not remove your hat?

Actually I think people should do whatever they wish when the song is being played. This is America....Land of the Free. I'm surprised someone has to explain this to you.

It's blatant disrespect for this great country and the Carolina Panther organization. I was at a function yesterday where most stood up during the National Anthem and few chose to act like ill mannered trash. They sat, laughed and shouted during the National Anthem, making a mockery out of themselves, not to mention keeping stereotypes alive and well.

If you want everybody to jump up and lockstep salute as some form of faux-patriotism....you're in the wrong country. God Save The Queen.

Cam was certainly within his rights in not removing his cap. That cannot be disputed. However, the fact that you have the right to do something does not mean it is the right thing to do.

Cam Newton needs to grow up & be a leader, because that is the role he is in on his team. He has no problem when things are going good, talking his head off. He needs to learn to take the good with the bad at a presser. That means not being a baby because he doesn't like the questions being asked and walking out. Another thing, I don't care who you are, if you played ball, you know the minute you see the ball on the ground you try an get, Its instinct when you playing that long! Every practice since 5th grade you've been going through fumble drills, so it is instinct!!

Is this sarcasm? It was a fumble and he needs to fall on it as 99.9% of the players who handle the football routinely would. Not worry about how it will look on replay.

Cam Newton is an obnoxious disrespectful sore loser. People keep saying that the Denver defense won the Super Bowl for Peyton Manning and Denver. Well, the Carolina defense spared Cam Newton from being thoroughly blown out and embarrassed by Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. The Carolina defense never gave up, I can't say the same about Cam Newton and his offense. His post game press conference was shameful. Wearing his little hoodie up while responding to questions with two syllable answers, never congratulating the Denver Bronco organization or Peyton Manning was indicative of a jealous, disrespectful man who lacks depth and class.

He is been very reason I wish we keep our pro set and never go to the spread offense.

Trap, while I don't agree with all of your comments, it is your opinion and you have a right to it -- up to the last sentence, which is the very definition of a non sequitur.

I'm not sure what this has to do with Rutgers....but, I would really love to hear you explain this statement: Did you just delete it ?

Yes I removed it because it has nothing to do with the subject. The rest of my post is spot on! i'm curious to know what his biggest defender Stephen a Smith has to say about his behavior after the game. By the way I am a big fan of the pro set and hope we never go to a spread offense which has been equated to street ball. Alabama wins the national championship game using a pro set and the Denver Broncos win the Super Bowl using a pro set offense.

Well, You were certainly implying something. Unfortunately, I think I know what it was and it's a very shameful.

Yes, Cam did little to earn respect and not going after the ball was shocking but what about Peyton shamelessly shilling for Budweiser in his post-game interview? Classless but he seems to be getting a pass on that.

I expected him to say something like "First I'm going to chow down on a Papa John's, and then I'll call my Nationwide agent to discuss what I should do with my SB check."

Whaaaaat?!

First of all.. players plug stuff all the time when getting paid to do so...Such as the whole "i'm going to disney world" thing.

Second...bud has come out and said Peyton was not paid for that.

“Budweiser did not pay Peyton Manning to mention Budweiser tonight,” said Anheuser-Busch spokeswoman Lisa Weser. “We were surprised and delighted that he did.”

I have a lot more respect for Peyton doing it that way rather than taking endorsement money thus driving up the cost for something that otherwise wouldn't happen. Peyton was advocating for something he actually owns and taking money on the backend through sales. Much more respectable form of "endorsement".

Well, either he was sharing his affection for Budweiser or currying favor for a future endorsement. If we want to put Cam in the worst light let's do the same for Peyton.
If there was ever a need for a dislike button... One has nothing to do with the other.

Or perhaps we should Dislike Cam for running out in golden cleats for pregame to plug underarmour? Personally i have no real issue from the marketing perspective however selecting gold is pretty brash and arrogant and again makes me happy that he failed miserably.

Cam Newton is a Superstar. Him and Andrew Luck are the best two young QB's in the league. Get used to seeing him for awhile

He doesn't have to get paid by Budweiser. He owns the Anheiser Busch distributor in New Orleans.

He should be held as a shining example to other NFL and other pro athletes. Invest in things other than jewelry, cars and an entourage. Endorse things you own. His Papa John's thing I am sure is a massive windfall.

With any brains at all, guys with his "brand" should make far more outside of playing.
