Chris Ash Radio Show Wednesday Nights

Somebody (Joe from N Brunswick?) called in and said the DJ music during play stoppages was so loud people left, and also complained the Alma Mater played Before the game was not played.

I will paraphrase Ash- he said these decisions were above his pay grade, he wasn't aware of them, but understands the concerns and will talk to someone involved in those decisions about the callers comments.

Mrs Screw called in to say how nice the players were dressed at the Scarlet Walk and would that now be a tradition....Ash said yes, he likes the suit and tie look.

Mike from Cedar Grove called to comment how Damon Hayes looked very good on Defense for a such a young player, Ash went on to laud Hayes and said he is a very good young player who will be playing.

That's what I remember, might have missed a caller. There were tweet in questions, I forgot what they were.

I'm sure there will be an R Vision replay up soon.

somebody tweeted a question about the triple option being a basketball fast break.

Ash roasted Pat Hobbs for a bit too.

Somebody asked about the Yankee stadium game. Ash said it was a decision made before he and Hobbs got there.

I believe this.

Seems like it was more than just his first game last Saturday.

Somebody asked about the Yankee stadium game. Ash said it was a decision made before he and Hobbs got there.
How was the hang time on the punt by Ash?

Getting closer to Kemoko Turay returning, but no set date.

Working every day on kickoffs and coverage. Wants kicks to go into end zone, but Jared S. is a freshman.

Ash likes noon kickoffs, particularly liked 11 a.m. kickoffs at Wisconsin. Gives him time to to stuff with family after game.

Carlin was wondering if NM's offense was like a fast break in basketball. Ash had no idea, and Carlin pressed it a bit, and Ash busted Carlin's chops-said it's your show Chris. . .

Ash makes a lot of strange faces during the show, like he is uncomfortable or needs to take a dump.

What the hell goes through somebody's brain to call into a radio show asking the damn football coach to turn the scoreboard volume down?

Coach said he wants a great in game experience. Lots of folks are listening. Ash did say he was going to bring it up to the folks that can do something about it. BTW, it wasn't me. :grimace:

I'm willing to bet the same weenies who post on this board, complaining about the volume, were the same people who called into the show, and Ash was just being congenial. I actually thought Saturday, for the first time in a very long time, the volume was absolutely perfect The entire length of the game. Will people forget, sometimes, is the wind has a major effect in that stadium on the found inside that stadium. Granted, it's not nearly as bad as it used to be, before the expansion. Obviously there was no wind on Saturday.

I also don't understand the complaining about the alma mater. Yes, we are accustomed to having a play both prior to and following each game, I get it. That being said, around the nation, the alma mater itself is typically just played at the end of the game. Even the service academies only play it at the end of the game if I recall correctly

Agree. Sound was better. Where they have to be a little better is when we are on offense, to stop with the pipe in crap in between plays. I remember back in 2006 that when we were on offense, the ribbon signs and scoreboard used to say "quiet" in between plays.

I had zero problem with piped-in music while we were on offense last week. I don't recall a single time when Laviana started making his calls that there was music playing. I could be wrong, however, I'm sure that if the team felt it was an issue it would be mediately rectified.

e ribbon boards were not there in 2006.

Why is it that most injuries they say he's out for 4 weeks or the season or whatever. But Turay is just someday he might play?

He went from having all this potential as a pass rusher and blocking kicks to not playing at all.

Ash said that in a race between Eric Legrand and Chris Carlin he's picking Eric.

It was pretty funny in the context of the conversation (talking about special teams, Eric was proud of the fact he was considered fast enough for the kickoff team ).

Special teams coach Vince O is very funny. PS- he was the DC at Colorado under Gary Barnett.

Could they give those guys a little more room to spread out. Ash is squeezed in like a sardine between EL and Carlin. He can't even rest his arms on the table.

Because it's a tradition that we have come to enjoy? Just throwing it out there.

I think the fact that rest of the country doesn't do it makes it even cooler.

Great show. Every time I see Ash it reminds me that he will take us to the top. He's just too good not to. But man is our LB situation dire.

Show is pretty cool in person. I was looking around the room and definitely recognized some of the faces from the twitter world.

You didn't say hello.

Ash is much more comfortable behind the microphone than he was 6 weeks ago. Aaron Henry, however, stole the show. He is relaxed, thoughtful, "old beyond his years" and VERY funny. His correction of Carlin that he had 8 interceptions not 7 was hysterical.
