Basketball Cliff Omoruyi declares for NBA Draft, maintains eligibility

No one cares about post moves anymore? Shocking how little some people know. If Pike doesn't care about post moves then why do we keep giving Cliff the ball there? We don't play in the NBA, we play in the Big 10 where post play matters. Dickenson and Edey are constantly asking for the ball on the block, and a post move doesn't have to be made from the block anyway. It can be made from further out.
This whole thread is about Cliff’s NBA readiness

Cliff must realize that doing this sort of thing helps him get closer to the NBA than practicing against Wolf and playing against Edey
I hope he comes back but the more of this he does, the less chance of his return to Rutgers

Geo and Ron did the same thing. It’s a chance to be evaluated. Every player should do it if they have he chance. Cliff is 99.9% returning.

For all the folks saying Cliff needs to develop an offensive post game to play in the NBA, I sure didn’t see him posting up very much here.

Jon Fanta didn’t even list cliff as one of his top 5 players today. People are really overacting to a Twitter account with less than 8k followers.

Only 6'9" barefoot?
While the other measurements are good - generally they are overrated.

Remember last year RHJ and his huge wingspan? Didn't help get drafted.

Makes sense. All this talk about post moves is nonsense.

Every NBA player needs to dribble and handle the ball.
Even centers can’t be stumbling around the court.
The level of talent is too high.

We already went down the “shooting 3s” experiment last season.
Will this year be “Point Center Clif”?

You don't want to see Cliff do this next year?

That coast to coast as a freshman big projects well in the NBA draft if he keeps developing at the same pace as Cliff did in 3 years. Cliff has never shown that in 3 years.

As I've said a thousand times now (first with RHJ and now Clif): while his draft stock might not improve with another year in college - it's certainly not going to go down. He's not going to go lower than "likely undrafted".

So it's a question: am I done with college or not? His pro prospects won't be worse in a year.

So, if you were asked to give advice, would you advise Clif to return to college for another year? I think that is what you are saying (I must have a hard time understanding you today!). It can't get worse, but it COULD get better?

Absolutely return.
Same as RHJ in 2021.

You’re undrafted now. If you return, worse is you’ll still be undrafted. At least then you get another year of being “important” and a top player in college. On tv. Fanfare. Headlines. Attention.

If you go pro, it’s likely humping around the G-League and maybe a couple games in the NBA.

NIL makes returning even more enticing (maybe not for Clif though).

The only way Cliff doesn't come back to Rutgers is if one of these "rumored" individual team workouts with Utah, Brooklyn, or Boston promises Cliff to sign him to an UDFA/G League contract. I wouldn't doubt RHJ had multiple offers last year before staying in the draft his 2nd go around. Cliff got feedback he will apply it this year and stay in the Draft next year like RHJ did..

Also depends highly on the $ figure we have put together for the overseas trip. If that NIL > UDFA gleague deal or 2-way, then I think he’s 100% staying. Chances r the NIL is higher either way

Despite claims from some posters that Tosan would be our best player by a long shot, Cliff outplayed him.
Just not true. Tosan got an nba combine invite after this and cliff wasnt even on the radar.
