I would say 8-0 would be the first slot, read somewhere that is the first time a conf went 8-0 or soemthing
This stuff is nice, but folks only remember the champs.
The B1G Ten has quality depth .It will be interesting to see how many of those teams win their second game.Michigan State and Purdue have the easiest games.
They surprised the heck out of me too..and I’ve watched them a few times this season. So much of this is about matchups.
Just wait for the first BIG loss -- the usual nay sayers will come out the wood work to attack the league. Notice how in football after two national football championships they became silent.
Funny how the conference doing the worst has arguably the best team left. Hopefully, since the ACC is weak, that means someone beats them before the final. My tournament is made when Duke loses.
SEC is a good conference this year, but 16 teams making the NCAA Tournament out of 18 conference teams is a joke!
The selection committee needs to be reviewed and expanded with new members to include more geographic and non-Power 5 conference inclusion.

A total joke. I’d also like to see teams with sub-.500 records in conference made ineligible for at-large selection.
you guys keep pointing out the SEC did not deserve to have 14 teams and that may be true but you can't sit there and think that anybody other than the West Virginia argument really deserved to be in instead?
it was a weak bubble so they rewarded the strongest league
nobody is crying that indiana, ohio state, smu, wake forest, etc got left out.... those teams if you watched this year were not any better than texas or unc or vanderbilt

everyone on here is screaming how S&ITTY the SEC was this year and overrated but yall just dont get it that nobody was left out that belonged in the tournament
the first round cuts out half the field so its very easy to dissect 1-2 leagues who lost some games early
there is a real good possibility the SEC has BY FAR the most teams left going into the sweet 16 and then touting how overrated it is sounds silly
the B10 looked good round 1 but are by seeding likely to only get a couple of those teams into the 2nd weekend so we just have to wait and see
Yea it sounds good in theory but in actuality the result would’ve been teams like SMU and North Texas getting in.
The B10 performance so far is supporting Pike's recurring claim "we're in the best league in the country"
I dunno ... Today, the Big 10 will be favored in 2 of its 4 games (Purdue over McNeese St and Wisconsin over BYU ... and be the underdog in 2 games (Tennessee over UCLA and Texas A&M likely favored over Michigan). Of course, anything could happen and all 4 Big 10 teams could lose ... or win. And on Sunday, 2 Big 10 teams would be favored (MSU over New Mexico and Maryland over Colorado St) while 2 will be underdogs (Kentucky over Illinois ... and more like a toss-up, Oregon v Arizona).
Look, its the NCAA, so anything can happen ... but I would think the Big 10 has a good chance to get 3-5 teams into the Sweet Sixteen, the next weekend.
FYI: Most intriguing match-up is St. Johns vs Arkansas, today, Pitino vs Calipari ... 2 peas in a pod (both really scummy, ethically, for many, many decades), with intense personal rivalries over many years - including both having coahced Kentucky for a number of years each (Pitino did so but ended 10 years prior to Calipari starting at Kentucky) - and Pitino then coaching Louisville for 7 seasons while Calipari was at Kentucky ... Plus for 4-6 seasons both were in Conference USA, agianst each other - Calipari at Memphis and Pitino at Louisville ( before UL went to the Big East). Calipari is a GREAT college coach, but each of the 3 programs he was at before Arkansas this season ended up on NCAA probation due to serious violations (UMass, Memphis AND Kentucky). Pitino is nearly equally (though not quite - and never got caught as often as Calipari) scummy, though also a great college coach. Of course, much of what they each got nailed for is now legal (NIL, etc.). I was juts looking it up ... and I don't know if I knew this, but Pitino is the older coach, though they have similar # of years coaching (33 for Calipari, 35 for Pitino), and similar career wins (885 for Pitino to 876 for Calipari). Pitino was also a counselor at Howard Garfinkel's legendary 5-Start Basketball Camp(before there was AAU, the 5-Star camp was a HUGE pipeline for players), and coached Calipari - who was a player at the time ... and Pitino was on the UMass advisory committee advising on a new head coach and was one of several on the Committee who recommended Calipari (who got he position).

hows it my style? i am a rutgers grad and ran track & field for Rutgers i sat through mostly horrible seasons of athletics in college since i went during some of the worst years
i would love the big 10 to do well and am glad they have so far... i am not rooting for the SEC to do well i dont particularly like the SEC i just pointing out a flawed argument when i see it

Agree. It’s egregious to go 6-12 in your conference and still make the NCAAs as an at large.

the tournament needs a major shake up in the current state of college basketball.
the transfer portal has weakened the lower conferences. too many auto-qualifiers from junk conferences, with no nil players.
going to get much worse with revenue share.

And a former B10 coach as well. Pretty good post season for the conference so far. That was one tough league our guys were competing in I guess
I understand what you are saying. I can live with one or at most two games under .500 in a great conference. My bigger issue is winning only 1/3 of your conference games and then getting an at large bid. A team should be somewhat competitive against their conference peers to make the NCAAs at large.
