Hmmm, Cousin Eddie (HC Chryst) stood behind his player's story that he was acting in self defense.

Now it comes out that Clement escalated a verbal altercation and threw the first punch.

An escalating series of hostile exchanges between Clement and the group of seven to eight men included what police described as Clement's repeated use of "derogatory and sexually explicit language" toward the girlfriend of one of the two other men cited. "I told Clement that a review of the video showed that his assertion that he was defending himself was not reflected in the video," Peterson says in the report. "I told Clement that it was clear that it was his actions that caused the verbal argument to continue, and that it was his actions that initiated the physical disturbance."
Wisconsin did issue a statement Wednesday saying it was aware Clement might be charged.

We were informed yesterday by Madison Police that Corey Clement was cited for two counts of disorderly conduct for his role in an incident on Nov. 8. When we first became aware of this incident, we knew this was a possibility. With the release of the full police report today, further details on the incident have come to light. Any disciplinary measures taken by UW head coach Paul Chryst relating to this incident are undetermined at this time and will be handled internally.

Fire someone!!!

He looked like a punk celebrating his touchdown against Rutgers and in other games after he scored.

Yet many here wanted to dump Carroo before his case was heard and there was no unbiased evidence against him. Maybe if he played for another team, he would have never been suspended.

Or Carroo was paying for what the other players did back in April. I have wondered what the reaction would have been without the fight and break ins.

I am surprised at Wisconsin's handling of this. Their original statement (before the video and police investigation):
"Wisconsin running back Corey Clement suffered a cut on his hand during an incident at his off-campus residence last Sunday, according to a release by the school.

Clement was walking back to his home when he saw a group of individuals engaged in a dispute with a security guard. Clement went to help and the individuals assaulted both him and the security guard, leaving Clement with a cut hand.

The school did not say whether a weapon was present nor did it note the extent of the injury."

Definitely a case of inclement conduct. While I'm sure that J. Christ will forgive Corey, I'm not so sure that P. Chryst should have so prematurely.

We all do realize that Ray Rice and his haymaker puts RU players under much more of a microscope when it comes to potential domestic violence. Peele before being a complete dbag, missed a whole year for much less.

Who is the liar? Did Clement give the bogus version of the events that Wisconsin repeated in the initial statement? Lying to your coach or admins ought to result in dismissal from the team. Did Wisconsin simply fabricate a story to keep the player eligible? Lying to the public to cover up criminal activity of a player ought to result in termination of the liars employment.

Bit of a reach here. Huge reach actually.
