I thought Hofstra played tough as hell. Really suprised me with how hard and tough they were. They really wanted to be there.

I think most of our players did want to be there. But a few I didn’t see the fire from. And those guys were exposed

Yes – – what they haven’t done well is rebound all season. But tonight was a combination of their misses turning into long rebounds, as in the end of regulation, and their doing a great job tipping the ball to keep it alive when they couldn’t grab the rebound. Cliff’s five rebounds against the team like this is just a huge disappointment.

Not blaming him but in a game that was 2 points it did not help. He is tough as nails Dude. Cliff not getting the rebound to me was biggest problem.

Their last five points in regulation came off of an off balance fadeaway three that was well guarded, and a put back off a long rebound over Cliff’s head from a three that was also well guarded. Sometimes it’s just not meant to be.

Pike has yet to instill the composure and awareness in his teams of seizing the moment by making the available plays. It’s happened time and again, where routine plays get mishandled and it costs us in the tight games. We just can’t seem to make the critical free throws or routine plays like boxing out or finishing a dunk or put back.

For some reason he passed the ball to Simpson at the end of regulation instead of taking the foul himself. Simpson misses and the rest is history.

Sat downstairs for the first time ever tonight and noticed that down the stretch they were able to get a clean touch on a few shots of ours that still went in...

Hofstra lost in their conf semi final to UNC Wilmington in OT. UNCW then lost to Charleston in the final.

Make no mistake Hofstra is basically a tourney team. Wanted it more than us. They lost in OT to a very good Charleston team where only the ship team advances. Regardless, bad look for us to lose and now we shut our mouths after being eliminated in round 1 of the NIT at home
