A tragic month in HS Football, the overall numbers are higher than I expected. Teaching, coaching, awareness, and just a fact that this is a dangerous sport can all contribute.
Not saying this was a cause in any of these, but i have been to enough HS games in Northern Jersey to see that there are kids on the field that are overmatched and outsized playing every week This is mostly due to small schools looking to field teams. From a safety standpoint, it worries me, and at some point will need to assessed. step one was letting the the private schools go their own way. Again not saying it this was the case here.

Btw Dawn Comstock, Colorado prof's quote is a bit perplexing.
"I would love to never see another high school athlete die while they play their game but the positive benefits of playing sports in terms of lifelong health are greater."
I assume she is referring to sports other than FB.
