This is exactly what I want to see.

Diallo gets beat down the floor he gets yanked.

Accountability is what I am looking for.

Obviously 1-3-1 totally threw us for a loop.

Hopefully we play them close in half 2.

No they won't. It's like a scene from Invasion of the body snatchers. Just give in and join the anyi ej crowd.

Did GW invent the 1-3-1 zone? Just curious

The performance of GW in the second half is matching Rutgers in shooting bricks.63-40.

GW on a scoring spurt trying to win by 35 .Score 79 -47 with 3 minutes to go.

Players sort quit in the end. A few players are really coasting. They need to get DNPs.

Jordan needs to substitute like GW. No player who has effort issues shouldn't play more than 5-6 consecutive muniutes

What I am hearing is the team was unprepared for a 1-3-1.......these kids have played ALL their lives and most have won 100s of games and titles. Losing and being called out as untalented is something players fear......and it weighs heavily. I see absolutely NO chemistry on this team...not even a HINT of swagger.....

Another LONG season coming up....

Everything Eddie wants to do is predicated off "makes". Press, push tempo, dictate pace,...it's all about getting makes. We clearly are not a good defensive team and I have to concede Eddie may not be the best defensive HC out there, but our offense just has to be better.

With Freeman out we have to get someone who can operate at the high post. I was at the game Saturday and was amazed neither Foreman nor Laurent looked willing to get in there. Our defense may stink, but I expect our offense to be better. Much better.

Offense is what Eddie should be about and as one of the few remaining fans willing to still give him some time I'd like to see us run some better stuff. Getting completely baffled by a 1-3-1 was not a good sign.

I have been upset for awhile about Jordans' teams defense. However when you look at raw data offense is the bigger issue.

Adjusted numbers (for strength of scheduled)
2016 offensive efficiency 95.0 (.95 points per possession) 310th
2016 defensive efficiency 101.2 149th

2015 offensive efficiency 96.2 2875th
2015 defensive efficiency 100.0 112th

2014 offensive efficiency 105.7 145th
2014 defensive efficiency 106.3 201st

Over the years I have argued with PatrickRU about the importance of defense (relative to offense). I am close to admitting defeat.

I have always been of the philosophy that finding kids who can "put the ball in the basket" is the hardest/most important component to building a good basketball team. I also believe that Eddie's best attribute is his ability to teach offense and run good sets. I was willing to look past a bunch of the "I am going to get mine" stuff I saw thru Eddie's first two years as (imo) that was the hand he was dealt post-Rice.

This year I thought I'd see better offense with a real, albeit young, true PG and some players who I though had some offensive ability. Saw it in spurts with Freeman in the lineup, but we have been awful offensively v. both SHU and GW. Awful.

I thought I heard on a post game interview with maybe Daniels? after the Connecticut State game talking about getting good looks going back to using Princeton offense. We saw 1-3-1 so the GW game doesn't count.... Has Eddie changed a lot of the offensive sets that he is running vs. man? I know the preseason talk was with Spurs type of offense (not sure why we would model an offense to a NBA team?), but i swear i heard Princeton in this interview.

A back cut for an easy basket would be a welcome sight.

...and that's our problem. Our 2 best finishers are our starting and backup point guards. Still waiting for the 3 that can finish in transition OR make a hard cut, catch and finish. Maybe Laurent is the closest thing.

Daniels did say that. Basically EJ capitulating & acknowledging that the Spurs system hasn't worked.

pretty scary
Fellas....Eddie has got to go. We need a recruiter who has the passion to go get it done....a visionary who can orchestrate
exactly what RU has to do to RECRUIT D1 TALENT in this state.....Danny Hurley comes to mind! He is doing a fine job with Rhode Island and he is well known in NJ. AD Hobbs knows the Hurley Family very well......if we want RU to be truly competitive in the BIG TEN....EJ a nice guy.....but Tim Pernetti knew he would not get it done and that is why he passed EJ over for Mike Rice...

Jordan backed out when it was clear Pernetti was not going to hire him.

Could be that or the type of money offered .
There are a lot of reasons College HC candidates arn't hired and not all of them is the AD
didn't think they were good enough.
Sometimes the candidate decides the fit isn't right and pursues other opportunities.
I can't claim Eddie decided not to continue talks with Pernetti over a iss, Tim let Jordan know he wasn't a serious candidate or for whatever reason Tim and Eddie didn't come to an agreement to make Jordan RU's MBB HC before Mike Rice was hired.
Only know Eddie Jordan was supposed to be one of the leading candidates for the position , but withdrew his name from consideration.
Could be Pernetti gave him that option by letting Eddie know he wasn't going to be hired, or Jordan didn't like Tim's offer and decided to walk away rather than continuing the negotiations .
