Elite 11 announcing now 12:12 - six already selected

I do not expect him to make the cut. Not because he is not a good QB but we did not have the same level of excitement from the watchers as we did when Russo was there last year.

Even though he had a great day 3, I think he's gonna miss the top 11 by a spot or two.

I'll still take him over any of the others though.

Said he played with a chip on his shoulder and he reminder them of Aaron Rodgers. Probably made a couple more throws. Lewis was impressive but apparently had a few throws get away from him.

They took more to Oregon last year. Last years process was different as they had the semifinals in LA and cut from 30 to get 18 for the finals. They then cut from 18 to the elite 11 in Oregon. This year they are just cutting from 24 to 11.

Actually I think 12 are going to Oregon.

Even though he is not making the finals, he is a good QB and I am glad he will be on the banks.

Yeah. As good a prospect as any QB in country. If he can make some strides with his touch (not to say he doesn't have it on some throws), he could very well be the best of them. Cannon arm, huge body and (apparently) can make some decent decisions (4TDs and 0 Int on the last day when they're asking them to make reads).

Stars apparently matter. None of the 12 selected to go to Oregon were less than a 4 star.

DeVito is a three star in rivals, probably lower in others, since they joked when selecting him - he was ranked 1600 something.

I took that from the Elite 11 Twitter page. They had DeVito as a 4 star. Guess they wanted to self- justify.

The other service probably boosted him as soon as he was selected, lol. Can't have a two star attending the opening.

From the commentary I've seen, it seemed like King Lew is physically developed and has a powerful arm. He probably needs to learn the QB position a little more, including adding some touch to his passes (they said the same thing about Elway, Cunningham and Culpepper, among others). The running part of the QB position is not taken into account in the rankings as well. I'm very happy with what we have coming in the next couple of years at QB.

Would have been nice to have him selected -- no doubt.

But this offense has won big with the likes of Johnny Football passing the rock.

You can't underestimate what a mobile QB brings to the table.

No need to compare DeVito and Lewis or disparage DeVito. For all I know DeVito may be a better pro prospect. I only care about how our QB does in our system and how many wins that yields. I couldn't care less if we had a team that was consistently top ten but never sent any players to the League.

The ability to scramble for a while then throw a rocket in the general direction of a guy who got wide open when the D brakes down is huge. Doing everything right on D and still losing the play because you can't bring down the QB is game changing, it impacts everything and changes how you need to game plan.

Yes, we took a very close look at DeVito. The staff chose to go in a different direction, but even DeVito showed some excitement about a possible connection with Rutgers, following in the steps of the other Bosco quarterbacks (Teel, Nova, etc., esp. with Teel as his current coach).
