I 100% agree with your assessment. I reject any argument that we don't miss a healthy Eugene all that much.
We played like complete garbage the 3 games Eugene was out with 2 of them being no shows on defense. small sample size, yes. However I am confident that Eugene means a LOT on the defensive side of the court.

Having said that in sports you can finish a decent amount above what stats say you should be. The difference between 15 win and 19 wins can be 4 possessions in a season with over 2,000.
