Inside info or wishful thinking?
How soon?not 2017 but looking for a big surprise soon for 2018 [thumb2]
Not necessarily about recruiting but the best news for us at this point would be to have Janarion Grant come back.
Not hearing anything means there is a great deal of uncertainty with Janarion Grant staying at RU ... looking for a good outcome for Rutgers doesn't normally work out in OUR FAVOR...Grant will probably be leaving...nothing more than an opinion.
Ash is having a pretty good recruiting year so far with a final push for Feb 1 NSD.
Of the 20 recruits you currently have, I was curious as to what states your recruits are coming from.
Pitt's (Narduzzi) recruit state distribution for the last two years is as follows.
2017 (so far):
Alabama (1)
Florida (5)
New Jersey (3)
Ohio (4)
Pennsylvania (5)
2016:
Florida (4)
New Jersey (2)
New York (2)
North Carolina (1)
Virginia (2)
Illinois (1)
Ohio (5)
Pennsylvania (7)
How many Pa recruits did you pull in this year.
Going forward what states do you think Ash will be targeting.
HAIL TO PITT!!!!
I would like to see us reopen the FLA pipeline we had under GS.Ash is having a pretty good recruiting year so far with a final push for Feb 1 NSD.

That pipeline never closed. In fact, the other guy did as well as GS in Florida. Maybe he wore a disguise.I would like to see us reopen the FLA pipeline we had under GS.
From what i understand, they shifted the focus from FLA because of the B12. I believe that was mentioned on XM not to long ago by one the recruiting gurus.Agree.
In the past WVU went into Florida for many of their recruits.
Going forward I am also curious how their Big 12 membership will impact recruiting that state.
HAIL TO PITT!!!!
I would take it but the O really needs to step it up to get to 5 wins. Have you guys named a replacement for Canada yet?By the way,I think Ash (Rutgers) did well with your new OC and RB coaches (can't teach experience).
It was always my opinion (said before) that you guys had better talent than your 2-10 record indicated.
With your experienced OL and these guys on Board you would have had maybe a 5-7 record this year (IMO).
HAIL TO PITT!!!!
So there are a few names you have not mentioned that are definitely on our short list of targets. Most is premium info so I will not divulge but I will give you one name that I know is out there- Army All-American P Tucker Day.For the wrap up of 2017 - here are some names that have been getting attention - and there are many more in this "may consider" category
- Some are waiting for that call from their "Dream School" - and will be playing the waiting game - before saying to RU - I'm ready to say "YES"
- Some may be hoping that RU calls them up and says - we really really want YOU - please commit to us RIGHT NOW
Tijaun Mason
Syhiem Simmons
Devin Darrington
John Lovett
Elijah Barnwell
Corey Bolds
Harrison Hand

No four stars, but a few solid three stars may pop up.was not meant to be a complete listing - & certainly hoped that names would be added
- but -
without divulging names - at this point are there any real genuine final stage - short list - "targets" that have not yet been identified as having received an "offer"?
- other than certain desirable Preferred Walk-On candidates
Have a feeling that if there are to be any "OMG - nobody saw that coming" major recruits landed on signing day or just before - there will pretty much be no hint or clue beforehand - not here - not anywhere.

I thought Canada did a great job as well for you guys. do you think Canada leaving will have an impact on your recruiting? No
However, I trust Narduzzi will get another good OC.
Sorry to lose Matt Canada but that is the way it goes.
AD Barnes did verify that Pitt offered Canada a 2 year contract for $1.0 million per year.
I believe LSU offered a 3 year contract for $1.33 million per year ($1.8 million with incentives) and he accepted.
Good to know that Pitt did offer $1.0 million per year to keep him even though he went for the BIG money.
HAIL TO PITT!!!!

Surprised Salem is not a candidateNo I don't think it will negatively impact recruiting.
I believe Pitt is still in the running for a few more good recruits which Narduzzi hopes to add before NLI day. Also remember Max Browne (USC QB Grad Transfer enrolled at Pitt in January) after Canada announced he was leaving.
What is interesting is that Matt Canada was fired after 3 years at NC State and came to Pitt and had this great season. So I'm interested to see what LSU does with their high priced coaching staff. What is also interesting is that before Matt Canada came to Pitt Jim Chaney left and went to Georgia which ended up with a 7-5 regular season.
I think Narduzzi is proving to be good football coach and has assembled a very good offensive coaching staff (IMHO) which makes it easier for an OC to come in and succeed. Example Tim Salem (Pitt's TE coach) actually was an OC at Purdue, UCF and Eastern Michigan.
Many on our board are speculating who Narduzzi will bring in as our next OC but I'm just going to wait until he makes the announcement.
HAIL TO PITT!!!!
I am guessing that whoever is the new OC, the offensive style will stay the same. I really liked your offense last year, it gave PSU and Clemson fits.No I don't think it will negatively impact recruiting.
