Good talking to you guys and I will be following (watching) Rutgers next year to see how Ash is progressing.

Always a Rutgers fan when you play Penn State.

Boy do I agree with you.

What is funny is that many on the coaching staff are jokingly saying that Matt Canada's play book is not copyrighted.

I think (IMO) a lot of Canada's play book will probably be incorporated into the new OC play book.

Pitt's major concern for next year will be starting a new QB.

When QB Nate Peterman got knocked out of the Bowl game with a concussion, Pitt was forced to put in frosh Ben Denucci (sp) because they did not want to burn QB Tim MacVittie (RS soph) red shirt.

He is going to be (IMO) a very good QB for Pitt but will be pushed by USC grad transfer Max Browne (Rivals 5-star No. 1 rated QB in 2013).

Will have to wait to see who wins the starting QB job in September.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!
Pitt is the only Big East team I miss playing. One of my crew is from Pittsburgh but went to RU. Every year we would host Pitt he brought a lot of Pitt guys to the games. Passionate and knowledgeable fans and we had some great tailgates.

Pitt lost Wade to Penn State and will lose Ford to the 'canes. Rutgers and Temple will eclipse Pitt shortly, if they haven't already.

Walk on or scholarship player? I can't really find much info on him.

Do not know if he will be a Scholarship player or a Walk On or a new Rutgers junior from Olathe Kansas cheering in the student section thrilled to be earning a degree from Rutgers University.
- info on Junior College transfers is often sparse - and especially in this case - kid is a WR (but has played QB) - was reported (in a NJ.com picture-book article about recruits) to have been a 'visiting recruit' at RU in the fall (PSU game) . He graduated from Coffeyville Community College in December & becomes an RU student in ten days .

EDIT - will enroll early and be a preferred walk-on.

Believe "preferred walk-on"

- which I also understand means the assurance of a roster spot - but unclear as to what date that becomes effective - and/or if there are any other hurdles - in general, a PWO does not have to 'try-out' - they are not heading off to a school thinking 'gee, I wonder if I will make the team' ... however a PWO knows full well that they have to work their butt off (X 10) if they want to earn real game time ....

Statistics & speed & strength tests don't win games -but for what it is worth here's a bit of how he has been evaluated (at some point in time - by somebody)
  • Height & Weight: 6'2" 205lbs
  • Nike Football Rating: 0
  • 40 Yard Dash: 4.58
  • Shuttle: 4.24
  • Vertical: 30.5
  • Bench: 215
  • 100 Meter Dash: 11.4
  • 400 Meter Dash: 48.8
  • Squat(LBS): 315
  • Deadlift(LBS): 375
  • Clean(LBS): 225
- the real test is the intangibles - the nose for the open spot / sixth sense as to where the QB needs him to be / the ability to snatch the ball out of the air anywhere near him & hold on - and all that remains to be determined

So congrats to Cole Murphy for making the choice to come to Rutgers & fight for his opportunities.

Not a lot of specifics, but Todderick thinks legitimate shot at:

Eddie Lewis
Raheem Blackshear (sp?)
Dion Fatay (sp?)
Tijaun Mason (sp?)
Terence Harris
