First Suspensions Handed Down by MSU.

i know they don’t teach it at rutgers
They don't have a 7th grade at Rutgers because it's a university. For the collegiate level geography courses that are available at Rutgers, not a single one is required to be taken in order to be a Rutgers graduate. But you know all this already, or at least I would hope you do.

Not really interested in the geography department . Just brought it up because of the bogus student athlete term
I am much more interested in the football and mens Basketball departments . I hope both find much success

We know that 4 & 14 were clear in the last video but what about the first one- it looks like at least 11, 17, 18 ,19 were involved. Are those the other players suspended so far?

The guy had to put his helmet on too.
Well that's just being smart. If you're about to engage in violence and have a helmet handy and don't put the helmet on, then you're an idiot.

Unless, of course, the plan is to use the helmet as a weapon. Me, I'd rip somebody else's helmet off to use as a weapon after putting my helmet on. Used cups could be used as well, as a bioweapon.

Windmon is a captain. Maybe more will come out, but at this point, it is a good question why Windmon has not been suspended.
Watched him shake his head NO when the two were asked “ did you see ….” Said incident. The player Windom was cool , calm and you knew he was full of it just as he kept his head down. Sounds like an intelligent and future leader in society.

My loathing for the position the program finds itself in after all of these years in the B1G and all the wasted opportunities, I would agree with that, believe it or not everything is not about your hero.
Please keep your bitterness to yourself. It is disgusting to witness you spewing it on this board. People discussing the Michigan-Michigan State tunnel altercation has been made, by you, into something about how you feel about this program. Just stop. What's next, you saying the same thing if anyone brings up the LSU_OleMiss womens soccer brawl?

Oh please, just shut up, get over yourself, your nothing special other than maybe to your family.

The Ole Miss player started it after the LSU player played used some nifty defense to steal the ball. The Ole Miss player than grabbed the LSU player from behind with both arms and then used her right arm to hack down on the LSU player. That's when the LSU player turned and threw a punch, with the Ole Miss player ready to throw a retailiatory punch, before she walked away acting as if she hadn't done anything. Later and LSU player was the "third-lady in" on the fight, and she should have been booted.
Disagree.. look more closely.. the LSU player's elbow during that "nifty defense" squarely contacts the head of the Ole Miss player.. perhaps unintentionally.. but the Ole Miss player doesn't realize that.. that's when things began to get out of control and the Ole Miss player used non-soccer moves in retaliation. I think they both gave as good as they got and that third player in, who follows the Ole Miss player to the sidelines, she is the most at fault.

3 red cards was correct, IMO, because that "nifty defense" was during desperation time in OT and it caused hard contact to the head. So she gets a red that might have been a yellow had it been called properly.. the non-soccer retaliation was a red and the third player in gets a red.. maybe worse.. because she could have elevated this into a bench-clearing brawl.

But, he's right. His words were special. Yours, on the other hand. . . .

You started this. Others will finish it.

Ol', I see what you're pointing to, but it's unclear, even in slo mo. But before I even address that, notice how the LSU player kicked the ball backward and away from the Ole Miss player with the back of her lower right leg. Nifty. She immediately spins, with better position, puts her arm out as she moves toward the ball with the OleMiss player behind her, and the back of her arm may have contacted the Ole Miss player behind her. Unclear. What is clear, though, is that the LSU player had the Ole Miss player beaten before any contact, and the Ole Miss player then started grabbing and hacking and that's when the punches flew. We can certainly agree that the third player was the worst. And, once the LSU player started firing back with punches, she was entitled to a red card too, just like the Ole Miss player. I don't get the notion that the LSU player looks like someone you wouldn't want to mess with. If anything, the Ole Miss player is bigger, more powerful and forcing the LSU player backward during most of their short encounter. She even took a last shot at the LSU player after the ref had arrived and the LSU player had turned her back and was leaving. It was all unfortunate, but my biggest takeaway was, "Nice D."

I think there was a bit of a hold before the steal.. bottom line to me is it was a series of unfortunate events during desperation time. I think there was also a punch to the back of the Ole Miss players head.. again.. unintentionally.. aim was for the face but in the frantic flailing struck the back of her head... and that lead to the last-shot you mention. I think the actual fight was pretty even... and unlike most girl-fights.. this wasn't the least bit "catty"... it was a real fight.

I'd bet that if both women were shown the video they could just shake hands and move on. The fight and the actions between those two seemed understandable action-reaction stuff. No intentional cheap shots. Just emotions boiling over based on events.

Of course, I did not see the whole game and have no idea if one side or player was more chippy or cheap or more physical over.. what was it 104 minutes at that point? If so that could have led to a CHOICE to get physical in that situation.

Definitely no hold by the Ole Miss player before the steal, and, yes, after the hold and hacking by the Ole Miss players are real fight ensued, but nothing of consequence landed. I can definitely chalk it up to two competitors going at it.

#14, #15, #18, and #19 are the four MSU players that were previously suspended. I can't believe Tucker still hasn't suspended #4, considering the current video evidence... He said that he suspended the first four players based on "reviewing the disturbing electronic evidence"... Why can't he see what everyone else sees regarding Jacoby Windmon now? SMH

11 & 17 also look clearly involved in the first "stomping" incident. Are they, by chance, starters?

Malcom Jones -Freshman CB
Justin White - RS JR CB on 2 deep
Windmon - SR starting DE - fourth leading tackler, leads team in sacks
Brandon Wright- SR Starting DE-

Add that to
Tank Brown- SO LB
Khary Crump- SO QB
Agelo Gros- JR starting Safety, 3rd leading tackler
Zion Young-FR DE on 3 Deep

Ouch.
Think the suspensions will last two weeks?

I think so. Now that legal action is being taken, you can't really bring them back till that's cleared up. I don't think Melton was allowed back till the legal case was cleared up.

Just so they can be identified in the videos, with the additional 4 suspensions, the players who've now been suspended are numbers 4, 14, 15, 18, 19, 26, 30, and 36.

I've regained a little respect for MSU administrators and Coach Tucker with the latest suspensions.

Imagine no video, they would just say sorry and nothing further. They tried to minimize but couldn’t. Still not clear what suspensions mean. In Meltons case that was Schiano decision to not let him play until legal action played out. Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if they reinstate some players before our game.

Most posters on the board over 45 would probably defend themselves if physically attacked not because somebody called you a name or said “ you guys sucked today.” I could be wrong but I don’t think so … now get the F…away from me or I’ll smack the crap out of you.
Here is the thing

I can fight.

I train 6-7 days a week , I regularly compete in amateur tournaments, and I walk around at 210 pounds. It would be a bad idea to engage me in a fight..

That said,

I will walk away (and have walked away) if someone tries to fight me on the street - a whole of things can happen, none of which would be good. I would only fight if there was no way to walk away cleanly.

Most of the people who have formal training, who can fight, will do the same. It’s usually testosterone laden idiots who think they can fight that get in trouble.

There are a lot of mentally weak people in this world (and a few on this site) that feel the need to get physical in the face of verbal altercation. There’s nothing a stranger or someone I casually know can say to me to make me want to fight them. I don’t care enough about them for anything they say to matter that much.

Sounds to me like the MSU Administration may have taken this out of Coach Tuckers hands. The AD sends out a letter and then the additional suspensions happen the same day.

Exactly the right answer. If attacked I’ll still defend myself to my best abilities. It is much easier to walk away especially at 72 and I’m still in pretty decent condition at 6’ 1 210 . Too old to waste time with some of the sickos now on our streets.

Yep... Making a decision to just walk away doesn't necessarily make a person a p*ssy....

Here in Arizona where there aren't many gun laws, we've had multiple situations recently where a road rage incident resulted in an involved party being shot to death... Just yesterday, there was a road rage situation in Phoenix where an altercation occurred... During the argument, first guy ended up stabbing the second guy, and then got back in his car and started to drive away... Second guy, bleeding from his wound, got gun from his car and shot at first guy's car as it drove away... Bullet went through rear window, killing 8 year old child in rear seat. Sigh...

There's way too much violence being used by some people as a solution to random verbal, philosophical , and political disagreements today, and the fact that many people have a deadly weapon nearby during heated arguments emboldens them and has made the results far more tragic than necessary... There will always be belligerent, possibly mentally challenged people everywhere who have no qualms about using violence to try to get their way or win an argument.... It's usually best to take the high road and walk away, even if it means that they may think they got the better of us. Screw 'em.

Amazing how these kids though disciplined on training , conditioning and diets act out of control but… from what I have seen on tape of Tucker pacing the sidelines and interaction with rowdy home fans it really isn’t surprising at all. The guy just doesn’t project the control of a HC. Windom knew at the post game interview he was a willing participant in the beating but casually denied he even saw anything. If this doesn’t send a message to teams nothing ever will.

Pressure now clearly on the shoulders of Schiano to show that he has this program headed in the right direction, a mediocre at best MSU squad further depleted by multiple suspensions should result in a big Rutgers win, no excuses.

Let's see how MSU responds this week. But I agree that this presents an opportunity.
