I thought the late games last night were not nearly as exciting as the first 7 which all seemed to come down to the last few minutes and most of those involved a team having to win the game 2x by closing it out

We got Murray State but still waiting for the wow upset of the tourney. I think today Liberty, Georgia State, Northern Kentucky, or UC Irvine are our shots today...one of those has to win.

My picks are in bold. My pick of the day is Virginia. You will not see the need for the "2X close"

I expect Virginia to step on Charlotte's Web and never let up.

I think this might be a year with a boring round 1 but excitement in round 2 and the second weekend.

3-1-1 ATS yesterday**. Today's plays:

Iowa +4.5
Colgate +17.5
UNC -22
Va Tech -10
Wisconsin -2
Kansas State -4

**Past results are not indicative of future performance

that Northwestern game exposed Iowa and ever since all coaches have followed the same template in stopping them.

if not for their win over Michigan, they may have been NIT only

The script, saving you the next 90 minutes.....
Cincy takes a 18 point lead
Cincy starts coasting
Bohnannon and Baer start making 3s
Cincy panics
Iowa cuts it to 2 with 3 minutes
Cincy goes on a 8-0 run...Iowa bad on D
B1G has 1st loss.

Good crowd, Cincinnati basically home court advantage. Iowa shaky early

Caleb Wesson going to go 0-7 from 3

Iowa goes zone and Cincy is disrupted....unfortunately Iowa has to reboind out of it. Major problem

If Iowa had any interest in winning they would be up by 6. Cincy is terrible. When their leading scorer in named Jenifer you have all the information necessary.

Iowa trying to keep it close, nice way to end the half. Bohannon needs a big second half.

Hope you peeps didnt pick Ole Miss

Doesnt matter because Virginia is next.

I'd like to see a pool where you get 1 point for each correct pick. Weight these games like any other.

I am a fan of the 1-2-3-4-5-6 point system.
The 10-20-40-80-160-320
or 1-2-4-8-16-32 render the 1st round games as just tiebreakers.

Mine, which is a pretty large pool, gives you:

1st round: 1 point for a win + the points of the seed
2nd round: 2 points for a win + the points of the seed
3rd Round: 4 points for a win + the point of the seed
4th round: 8 points for a win + the point of the seed
5th round: 16 points for a win + the point of the seed
6th round: 32 points for a win for a win + the point of the seed

So you get value for picking the 7-10/8-9/5-12 games right. i.e Murray State yesterday got you 13 points. Florida got you 11. Gonzaga got you 2 points.

Change it.....
round 1 5 plus seed
round 2 10 plus seed
round 3 15 plus seed
round 4 20 plus seed
round 5 25 plus seed
round 6 30 plus seed
