I agree we look much better at this point than last year. Great 3 point D in 6 of 7 games, more balanced scoring, better 3 point shooting all without our main field general.
Someone in this thread said Caleb needs to be benched earlier… talk about a clueless fan. Caleb is awesome and we would not be in this game without him.
Gotta make threes to win games. Not playing a whole heckuva lot better than we did against Temple.

What a ridiculous comment. You could not see anything. He took it straight to the basket, shot was blocked and he was fouled.
We let up wide open threes when we played zone. Luckily they only hit one of them.
Need to play the defense we played against Purdue. Just body up man to man and don’t double the post. Don’t let UM start to get hot from the outside.

Miller needed to go to the middle when on the break. Basketball 101. Then stop and take a short jumper if no wing pass available. Cannot get blocked there. If you force your way to the basket have to get the ball above the defender.
Alot of pressure on Cam to play the point because Simpson is overmatched. Hurting his offense because no one to set him up for Js. Missing PM. Thank goodness Miami has bee atrocious beyond the arc … so far. For us to win, Cliff needs to make his mark on the game. Needs to be theBIG DOG tonight !

Every point counts the same. You gotta be playing better when your up by 1 vs down by 19.
Gotta take what they give us. I figure, if they keep triple teaming Cliff, then we should pass to him but he should draw the coverage in and pass back out, get open looks for others.
I hope we keep moving the ball around and don’t just start firing up 3s, though.

PROS:
- Caleb is a calming presence and his D is invaluable
- Hyatt scoring
- Rutgers leading despite off night thus far by Spencer and Cliff not being much of a factor on either end
CONS
- Not capitalizing on offense boards (gotta get those putbacks)
- 2 bad founds by Simpson; youth showing
- Need to hit the defensive boards stronger

Honestly Miami is beating us and we are bailed out by 3 point shooting and all of their misses. Need to do better in the 2nd half
Caleb was awesome in the first half. Maybe he puts Caleb on Wong in the 2nd half. Wong won't look like that I guarantee. Problem is Pack would.
If we come out and play better on D, keep up the rebounding, then I like our chances unless we get turnover happy or go stone cold with outside shots.
Refs swallowed their whistle 1st half. Which typically means they’ll do a 180 and call everything 2nd half

Scoreboard says otherwise. We need to play better in the second half to limit their scoring in the paint
Cliff was fighting hard for post position on tons of possessions. We have our wings catching the ball too far extended with pressure to make the pass or they have another defender too close or we have poor floor spacing on way too many possessions
Unable to see the game, but pleasantly surprised to lead at the half. I see Paul isn’t playing. Expected a 6-8 point loss without him, so ahead of the game. If RU is playing like they did vs Temple, than Miami isn’t very good.
These commentators are horrible. Think gsme was 10 to 10 Miami scores 4 pts and one guy says Miami taking control of game. Hard to listen to them
