(Delayed because I had trouble logging in, for no obvious reason, but it’s fixed now.)

And here we go for another year. (An interesting night in other ways, too.)

The most interesting game, of course, was a nice big win to start the season.

B1G

#13 Iowa 102 Dakota Wesleyan 54 – Gustafson had 22 and 12 in 27 minutes
#22 South Florida 71 Ohio State 47 – 3 Bulls with 16+ points
Michigan State 99 Bowling Green 69 – Allen had 17 and 15 for the Spartans
Northwestern 57 Wisconsin Green Bay 55 – Wildcats trailed by 7 after 3

Other RU opponents

#5 Louisville 102 Western Kentucky 80 – Cards took their feet off the gas in 4th
Virginia Tech 96 South Carolina Upstate 45 – not insanely out of reach until 4th quarter
LSU 66 Sam Houston 52 – close at the half
Brown 68 Central Connecticut 63 – reasonably close the whole way

FYI, I’m including any possible opponent in the Vancouver tournament for now; I will prune the teams that RU doesn’t play once it’s over.

Other ranked teams

#3 Oregon 115 Alaska-Fairbanks 36 – Nanooks managed double figures in one quarter
#4 Baylor 100 Nicholls State 39 – 7 Bears in double-figures
#6 Mississippi State 88 Southeast Missouri State 53 – Bulldogs dominated middle quarters
#16 Missouri 89 Western Illinois 64 – close for a while
#18 Syracuse 85 Norrth Dakota 49 – just an 11-point game at the half
#19 Marquette 91 South Dakota State 52 – nice to see Golden Eagles in the rankings
#23 Arizona State 81 Incarnate Word 43 – about what you’d expect
#24 California 80 Houston 79 – much closer than it should have been
#25 Miami (FL) 94 Florida International 43 – not great competition

Also – a bumper crop of 100-point games

Florida State 103 Troy 67 – Seminoles scored at least 25 points in each quarter
New Orleans 104 Centenary 42 – 42-12 1stquarter
Charleston Southern 101 Converse 50 – Converse apparently not All Stars
Cleveland State 113 Salem 81 – 65-40 margin in middle quarters
North Carolina 100 Elon 69 – Heels start traditional beat up on the locals tour
Eastern Illinois 102 Oakland City 41 – Mighty Oaks felled
St. Francis (NY) 102 Mercy College 51 – the rare double-up
Savannah State 155 Wesleyan College 26 – no, not a D-I opponent
Louisiana Tech 112 LSU-Alexandria 70 – within reach at the half
IUPUI 101 Purdue Northwest 40 – seems kind of incestuous

That's 13 100-point games in one night.

Today:

B1G: 3-1

Other RU opponents: 3-2

There were no palindromic scores in 90 games on Tuesday.

A quick note: I am going to be traveling out of the country through November 19, so I may be posting Games of Interest at odd times. But I will be posting it.
