Gavin Wimsatt Commits to Kentucky!!

He wasn't going to play here either. He saw AK's arm in practice every day and knew he was sitting. Schiano confirmed that for him.

His NIL deal was probably predicated on him being a starter at this point. He's making what money he can, when he can. Smart move.

Football isn't his future. Get what you can out of it now.

you seem triggered as if this validates your feelings on Gav
Irony is you being triggered into posting about how someone else got triggered.

I know, I know. Irony is tough for you to grasp. So let me explain it to you.

Everybody who responds to somebody else's post was triggered.

Understand? Probably not. Anyway...

Its Kentucky...The reason why GW was so overrated...There's NO way he starts in SEC unless some injuries to #1 and #2
#1 and 2 have very little experience. Gavin is the most experienced FBS QB on Kentucky's roster right now.

#1 is a transfer from Georgia with no starts- 18 passing attempts
#2 is a transfer from Georgia Southern- he did not play in 2023. His stats from 2022 are from Tarleton State

Jared Bernhardt. Played 1 year of football after playing 4 years of lacrosse and played in NFL games.

Chris Hogan is a great example. Played 4 years of lacrosse at PSU where he was good, not great. Plays one year of football at Monmouth then is getting playing catching balls from Tom Brady.

He played one season of bro lacrosse and you would say he was a failure. He didn't belong. Back to the NFL he went. There are a lot of examples. Uva had an All Pac 12 first team LB join their team last year. He couldn't get past the second midfield line.

I can go on.

And back in time, Rich Mauti, who played 7 years as a WR in the NFL, also played lacrosse at Penn St.

Many examples. These sports neophytes don't know anything nor were they real athletes. They don't know what they are seeing on athletic fields. You can't really blame them. They just don't know.

How much money have I claimed to have lol

This should be good.

And he is great at handing the ball off. It's what he did here. I don't think he fumbled one.

NJ tough guys always upset about something lol

Would be cool to see Gavin start . I’d be cheering for him. Can’t hate on him going back to his home state school
My wife and I own an AirBnB in Winchester Ky.It is a half hour from UK.I don't think there is a commitment unless they slotted him to play..I am friends with many UK Alums,& looking forward to checking GW out if he gets run

Who cares about experience when he can't throw a 5 yard pass! Good riddance!

Good luck on keeping your sanity Wildcat fans. Lord knows you're going to need it.
Yeah, I wished this worked out, but I’m okay with the outcome. Based on what I’ve read along with Richie and Mike’s podcast observations, I think AK will be competent and I look forward to the future with Surace and Shepherd. If Wimsatt finds the magic elixir at UK, God bless him. I wish him well.

The guy is going back to his home state for a better chance at getting P5 QB playing time than he would have gotten at RU. Nothing wrong there. If your college career is comprised exclusively of taking game day reps at QB in the B1G and the SEC, you've got a lot of talent. Gavin deserves the best of luck at UK.

Him coming to Rutgers at the last second was just a money grab, plain and simple. He wasn't the 4-star player everyone raved about. He is no longer at Rutgers so he's irrelevant going forward.

Man let it go dude. Loser mentality boy.
“Good luck Gavin, let’s go AK” it’s easy, u can do it!
lol at loser mentality lolololol brother, you couldn't fill my water bottle

name one thing there I said is wrong. Kentucky taking the worst QB in p5, bottom rung of d1 and a kid beat out by an avg QB. glad he's gone, time to move on

the loser mentality is the people that 'settled' for a shitty QB like Gav. Expect more, demand more, you will succeed more

not even close and can't fathom how he got that rating and especially after watching that take KK posted.

Westcoast:

"Shorter passes = higher completion rate - that's a known fundamental ."

Except Eimsatt struggled mightily throwing those passes. And many of his story completions were horrible throws that eliminated and yac and often resulted in negative yardage plays. "

Yes he obvs missed on some short passes but he would have been better at the longer ones that GS said weren't possible with RU's OL. QBs aren't from cookie cutters .

He could have also been more of a runner on some plays (being a Dual Threat QB and all).

Look at Mike Teel on everybody's fav RU team loaded with NFL talent (and best OL in D1).
In 2006 Teel only had 55.6% completions with 12 TD passes and 13 INTs - he had zero rushing TDs.
In 2023 GW had 8 more total TDs than Teel and 4 less INTs
Put GW on 2006 RU and Teel on 2023 RU and people might be surprised.

Means a lot coming from a LAX fan where mediocre athletes can be D1 players lol.

The pertinent question is "compared to what"? P5 football and the NFL? There are exceptions, but no, not that level. And they don't have the height for the NBA and again D1. Any other group, you'd be surprised.

I get where you are going but lose from the word go even trying to compare Gav to Teel. Just let it go, Gav was an awful QB and we're infinitely better off without him

Wow they have idiot posters too. Lol

If the KU staff wants him I'm sure there's a good reason for it. He gets back home so probably a win win for him. He won't be getting much of a break playing great Defenses down there but I doubt KU plays the Top 3 Defenses in NCAaF next year like we did last year. Not to mention Iowa coming in at number 7 and Miami and VT also ranked in Top 25.
UK not KU

The 94 rating as a freshman when Teel was pretty bad (2 tds, 10 picks) is essentially GW's career mark.

KK on this board? The same guy that posted real estate wasn't in a bubble? And it crashed a few days after that post? That clown

Maybe he cares a lot about being back home and would find it preferable to be a backup there than a backup here. It's one thing to be a starter when you're almost 700 miles from home but quite another to be a backup there. If you're going to be a backup anyway, maybe it's better to be home.
Silly take

Yes, it was mentioned on premium board after the podcast. He was deciding between being QB2 or QB3 at UK or a starting gig at New Mexico State.
That's quite revealing. It shows being home is now more important to him than being a starting QB in an unfamiliar part of the country.

Teel had Rice, Sosa, Stephenson, Leonard, Britt, Brown, Harris, Zuttah, Underwood, Stapleton and more. Teel's
offense was loaded with talent and the defense still had to bailout the beans-n-franks offense. Teel's best pass was a bomb far up the sidelines (his OL and WRs allowed for that).

I dont really get caught-up with QB completion % and ratings was much as TD/INTs.
Wimsatt's 20 record setting TDs combined was a lot considering WR/OL limitations.
Last RU player to have 20+ TDs was Nova (with Grant, Caroo, Kroft and more).

Sure GW could have been more accurate but he could have had Britt and Caroo too.
Not even Sanu came close to 20 TDs.
Eh, the world is on fire and I cant care too much about QB.
My focus is more with Schiano's consistent QB problems.
I cant call a 20 TD QB lousy and a Gopher castoff a savior.
It would be nice if RU actually brought in an upgrade.
The whole "amazing spring practices" is pretty silly

Clown. Have you figured out of your 100 conspiracy theories who brought down the Key Bridge yet? The Russians or the aliens??

That's quite revealing. It shows being home is now more important to him than being a starting QB in an unfamiliar part of the country. Maybe that reflects his Rutgers experience, but maybe not.

It could also be the chance to play for the 2023 #36 team versus starting for the #98 team
