He's the best among the most realistic candidates out there . Mullen and tressel aren't coming . Program is too fragile to hire a coordinator guy . Golden is a jersey guy and he can do a good job here .

Golden gets way too much hype due to the "Jersey guy" angle. It's certainly a resume booster, but jeez did you see what he did at Miami? They flew banners asking for him to be fired. You know drunk goggles? I think this board has Flood goggles on when viewing candidates. Sure literally ANYONE with a pulse would do a better job than Flood but that doesn't mean we have to take a lackluster candidate.
Joe Moglia is a better option. I would rather bet on a guy who knows how to get the most out of people.

Diaco's first two seasons are identical to Rhule's. Of course, the third season is no small matter to reproduce, but I think they're poised to take a big step. I can see you not wanting to roll the dice on him just yet, but I think he's going to be hot shit next year. Just a feeling.

I dont know if Golden is Schiano-Lite or Flood 2.0. He couldn't win the MAC with Temple because of his stupid defense. He couldn't win a WEAK ACC division in Miami with Miami players because of his stupid defense. This time will not be the charm.

... and Golden offense was only good because of Rhule. Golden is a travesty as a coach. We obviously have a lot of fans here who didn't watch the Canes play over the last 4 years.

Golden recruited for one of the best brand name schools in the absolute most talent rich part of the country. So if his biggest upside is recruiting - that's a scary bet to make.

Golden would be a very disappointing hire. The guy was fired for sucking and he has never showed that he's a good HC. If you want a fired HC give me a guy like Bo Pelini, who was a winner. If we can't get a successful HC, I'd rather see RU take a chance on an up and coming assistant like Ash.
Unlike Schiano, Golden apparently wants the job. That's a plus in my book. GS can sit on his butt in FL and continue to cash Glazer's checks for all I care.

Something that is more interesting to consider is when AG left us for Coral Gables, MR was the only one on his staff that did not follow him to Florida.

He's a scumbag and if you guys do end up going with AG, Hobbs better make it his business that he won't accept the Frick and Frack package deal.

I am going to support the coach and team regardless of who we hire but Golden is at the bottom of my list and we look like idiots hiring him. And exactly how is he going to recruit these top NJ kids? They are more savvy then ever and him being a NJ guy who coached Miami isn't going to get any of these top kids. He lost at Miami, his 4/5 star recruits played like walkons and he has shown no ability with X/o's.

really and we didn't look like idiots hiring a failed OL coach and didn't recruit or wasn't a good coach but yet was defended to the hilt by some including you shouting many people down. You didn't seem to have a problem with Flood getting 2 stars. I don't want get into an argument but all I am asking you is for consistency in how you analyze a coach.
I watched him coach in the playoffs last year. He's a heck of a football coach. Three conference championships in 4 years, 4 playoff appearances, 41-13 record in 4 years. Yeah, why would we want a proven winner? Clearly the guy who got blown out by Clemson and Fired is a much better choice. SMH...
