The biggest change and hopefully there is more to come , was Gavin driving to the hole where he took contact and still made the layup and the offensive rebound miss and rebound again and miss but got fouled and converted the 2 foul shots. He is 6’8” with a decent handle and it is about time he uses it. I love when he rebounds and goes upcourt not looking for the guard until past half court. The development of his 2 point game at the rim and inthe mid range is just as important as his three point shooting improving. He has to stop with the high school behind the back and just keep a tight handle and drive hard to get to any spot he is comfortable and let it go. Driving and finishing through contact is also huge and long overdue.
Pike is set in his ways but second half Wolf and Cliff should have started with Gavin , Jeremiah and whoever he wanted at the other guard. His going back to Hyatt , Derekand JMike was a disaster. Sometimes Pike , who at times plays who he playing well , but he is also too regimented starting the same guys first half/ second half or subbing 3 starters after under 16 timeout regardless of what is happening on the court and how well the starters do early. Why did Cliff and Wolf not play together ? Taking Cliff out allowed Wolf to have his best game but at the cost of eliminating Cliff from our offense which they were doubling on every touch and he could have set up Wolf for more or for kick outs to Gavin and company. Gavin might have had more than 2 made threes that he had yesterday.
