Harbaugh/Paramus Relationship "Genius"

Are we selling Ash and Mantz short by giving credit to Michigan pushing other schools to be more RU friendly? Let's hope our ties are due to that hardworking regardless of this Michigan side show.
It was Ash's hard work, but Michigan made it a little easier for him to get NJ HS FB coaches
to be more RU friendly because of the way they seen Ash react to a challenge.
It was a far cry from the previous RU HC's type of reaction and the way Ash took care of business in contacting them made those NJ HS FB coaches feel Rutgers Football was in the right hands and decided to support the RU FB program and its HC.

Ash and staff certainly has done a great job so far building/rebuilding relationships with coaches especially in South Jersey where Flood has mostly ignored for years. That said, I seriously doubt Toal or Campanile, and to lesser extent Hansen, would have ever publicly pledged their allegiance to Rutgers without the Michigan/PC dynamics, great strategy by Ash for drawing the line in the sand.

Don't forget Ash staying on to coach OSU through their bowl game.

And that folks questioned why Ash would make an appearance at Rhule's camp.

Two "big-picture" strategic decisions that were likely contributing factors in Meyer and Rhule agreeing to co-host.

Ash is a proven recruiter and a proven gameday coordinator. Let's hope he's a good head coach, and that his wife and kids end up loving New Jersey.

No matter what Harbaugh does in New Jersey with Michigan's prestige and reputation, Ash has the potential to overcome and win if the money starts to flow. It's got nothing to do with how well Harbaugh does with PC.

your post confuses me. Sabella was not hand picked by Partridge. He is the third coach since Partridge left. Also, your comment about Parochial coaches being ready for P5 jobs over actual college coaches is kind of silly. I will agree with you about him beign a very good x and o HS coach.

sorry for the confusion.
costanzo was after partridge. Blake is one of his best friends and the rest of the staff remained the same.
westervelt took over from there. He coached under partridge and is like an uncle to him. Westervelt actually IS an uncle to offensive coordinator Greg Russo , who is a major figure in the program - probably the most important. Westervelt's staff was basically all guys from previous regime too.
Sabella still has a lot of the same staff, same strength coach and same figureheads around the program. And they aren't necessarily bad guys by any means, but they are a huge part of the culture that has existed and will continue to exist.

The part about big north coaches getting jobs at the p5 level - I was talking about assistant coaching positions, not head jobs. I should have clarified.

That same decision to stay on also got him exposure at the NFL draft that gave him recruiting pitches like not only can he coach players up and send them to NFL but more importantly he truly cares about his players. Big picture strategy indeed.

It's the difference between playing checkers and playing chess. Ash will also be at OSU's camp.

Sorry but your still wrong here. Sure a few high school coaches make the jump to college, but the majority take the path Scott Vallone is currently on. Partridge didn't become a coach at um right out of high school coaching . He was a recruiting coordinator and a job opened up when Durkin took the Maryland job. That staff doesn't have any turnover last year he's still a recruiting coordinator for them this year. That's a very rare situation right there. You get a head job at a parochial and are successful that by no means has punched your ticket to a P5 assistant job.

ok, this I can buy. you obviously know a great deal about PC so you have to realize while coaches remain the the true culture was CP. Without him I highly doubt the perks continue long.

he's not totally off here. I know a guy who is applying for a P5 grad assistant job and he was told if he doesn't get it he should volunteer at a NJ Parochial because it will set him up for next year.

The majority, yes, but I'm talking about head coaches or coordinators at schools in the nj parochial league. By the way, partridge was getting positional offers from 1a schools before he landed at mich. We hired ant campanile directly from bosco - and he had other big schools sniffing around as well.
I'm just saying, big time college programs know what the north jersey Catholic league is like, and they have faith in hiring these coaches because of how similar running the programs is.
It's craaZzyyyy

And partridge is coaching linebackers now and doing specials. You can rise quick in this athletic game of thrones.
