Hard to believe, but Will Wade is on a wiretap talking about an "strong-ass offer" made to a recruit

Obviously he has been paying kids. When Russ said that he had a relationship with Naz Reid since 8th grade I joke that "oh you mean he's been paying him since 8th grade" and he basically took exception. Bball recruiting is so shady and its no "accident" how they have been getting these 5 stars down their recently including two kids from NY/NJ to magically go down there.

Shocked, I tell ya!

Said this in another thread recently where LSU came up....Wade looks like Mike Rice on steroids during games. Dude seems like a maniac.

I'm not here to defend Russ or anyone but,......

I think what he said about Wade was that there was not any proof. That is true.......without proof, a Reporter really can't say publicly that he is dirty because no one receiving money will ever admit it or speak up. If they do, they are admitting to income tax evasion.

This appears to be a Smoking Gun.

nothing is going to happen

The refs and Wade are always right

Jokes aside

I get this is foul play and shouldn't be done. Possibly takes recruits away from schools who play it fair etc, but does anyone think it's kinda ridiculous for them to be dedicating FBI resources to investigating all this. Couldn't they be used on something more important?

Rutgers Athletics has never gotten onboard with the wink and nod approach to landing elite athletes whose families know they can expect more than an athletic scholarship. It’s not just the Duke’s and Kentucky’s and Michigan’s and Louisville’s and Florida’s and Alabama’s and UCLA’s. Creighton, Tennessee, Auburn. You can name the school. Rutgers doesn’t get it. It doesn’t take much creative thinking and planning to stretch the rules.

Rutgers can’t do it because Rutgers basketball expectations doesn’t exceed ridiculous demands like blue blood programs. We don’t need to because we can afford to develop kids. It doesn’t matter because after this year, I think recruiting is going to pick up in nj.

I am sorry but Russ shot down the idea that LSU was cheating like we were idiots for even bringing it up. It was so obvious it’s not even funny. What should happen is for Russ to admit that we are not playing on a level playing field with these other programs. I have to remind myself of this often when I get pissed at Pike or any other RU coach for losing out on a recruit. I mean is there another sport in the country so corrupt? Where people can just blatantly cheat and the punishment nowhere near fits the crime. They should literally shut down the LSU program for two years and let the kids transfer that didn’t get paid if there are any. The message has to be STRONG if they ever want to get this back under control that this will not be tolerated

Stop people . This is what college basketball is. Don’t like it, don’t watch . Arizona is still coached by Sean Miller for crissakes.
Do you think getting Corey sanders was 100 percent clean?

From one of my favorite flicks.. Breaking Away. "Everybody cheats dad" "Well son. Now you know"

Ok so I am going to be that guy. Does Hyatt decommit and is he back in play for RU?

This is a bit of a strange take. We have been told that Rutgers doesn't play that game. I believe that.

Someone suggesting Wade cheated because high star players start dropping there is at least a sensible leap.

Rutgers paying Corey Sanders? You'll need to provide at least some logic/intel/'proof' vs just suggesting it in your lame post IMHO.

unfortunatly for Rutger’s fans Steve Pikiell will not cheat. Never. To good of a person. This is why we will continue to lose guys like Hyatt and Martin twins. The most unfortunate part is some Rutgers fans will trash pikiell and want to fire him for not getting those players. Integrity and honesty were good qualities in a person and leader of men. That being said pikiell chose this profession and apparently it is dirtier than a pig in poop.

I'm still trying to figure out where that saying originated. I have pigs and my pigs will get up, poop on the other side of the stall then go back to sleep on the other side. Now if it were sheep in poop or goats in poop I could understand. Those are some dirty animals, they don't care where they drop their pellets, food bowl, water bowl or where they sleep they don't care.

It’s not just the Duke’s and Kentucky’s and Michigan’s and Louisville’s and Florida’s and Alabama’s and UCLA’s.

While Chris Webber and his dad got paid money by a local Detroiter 30 years ago, Michigan hasn't even been close to paying kids the last 20 years. John Beilein was voted the most ethical coach in the country by his peers, and maybe consequently has landed very few elite recruits relative to his success on the court. He won't even offer kids a scholarship until they finish their sophomore year of HS.

Russ aint gonna comment on this. He knows and all guys tied in like him not only know it goes on but almost all of them know the exact amounts paid too

Flogging not necessary but if he knows it goes on, he shouldn't comment on it in first place. Now that it is clear something fishy went on, he can ignore it or admit it.
I always have to laugh at the "Court of Social Media." What exactly did he say that has everyone so bent out of shape? The bottom line is for him to do what he does, he's not going to call out coaches based on hearsay. I'm guessing he wasn't in the room when any transactions went down, so what's he gonna say? "Guilty" based on a bunch of message board inferences?
