Holy smokes!!!

That is a bit of a blanket statement. I’m sure the role can vary from school to school. But GMs for programs that have them and ADs alike are absolutely involved in raising money. A big reason for having them is to help coaches who all they do these days is recruit and fund raise, get back to coaching
You know what, you're right on the GM thing. Here at Rutgers, we're using for only for what I described above in my post. But at Stanford they made the GM the head of the entire football program and he just fired their coach. Cal boosters are threatening if Ron Rivera (new GM) doesn't get entire oversight they will withhold donations.

Sounds like it's his wives decision. She's from PA. That was the background story for leaving Iowa as well. Sounds like a dumb move to me.

Wifie should try a move to the east coast. Maybe she would like the Jersey shore and Gilman can look at a local college to coach at...like Rutgers.

Just listened to AJ’s commitment on FRL… maybe he’s got me fooled, but sounds like he matured a lot.. maybe he will end up tarring down UNC’s reputation n brand but.. will be rooting for AJ to succeed.

ROcky would be a huge addition at 197
Fair warning Elam is beat up physically from 5/6 years of college wrestling and weight cutting and looked like a guy with a bad case of HEW the last season he competed. 197 has a few younger less accomplished guys that would probably be a better fit still in the portal

If Elam is planning on wrestling heavyweight his last season though I think it would be worth it for y’all ,not too many high end heavyweight transfers available right now

Disagree...A little dramatic?

Rocky Elam made The 2024 NCAA Semifinals losing to 4x NCAA Champ Brooks

His only other losses during 2024 season were to Cardenas and Sloan and both were NCAA finalists in career...Elam also had Wins over Cardenas and Sloan in 2024 season

He beat 2025 197lb NCAA Champ Buchanon in 2024...Not sure How He looked washed up

Elam had a few surgeries to repair some injuries if he's back healthy he will be a factor. He has been an AA at least 2 out of his 4 times very injured

Something doesn’t make sense there…Nieves was a monster recruit out of Blair.
Don’t know the reason but there’s not a ton of guys who come out of Blair that particularly well in college. There are some exceptions but it’s mostly a ton of underwhelming former top recruits. Even the ones that do pan out don’t reach their hype level.

Blair’s past recruits used to hit more.. legends like Mocco, Russell, McKenna, Perry, Kolodzik to name a few.

I don’t remember their exact recruiting ranking coming out of hs but the most recent group aren’t bad: SVN, Trephan, Ramirez, Wask, Incontrera, McGowan.. next year Deluca… they all aren’t ncaa champ lvl but Blair still produces a lotta serviceable D1 guys.

Idk about all that …This past ncaa tournament Blair had more qualifers (10) then any other high school, the next closest had 6 qualifers and that’s with Neves in redshirt and AA TJ Stewart falling off a cliff this year…they had 3 AAs plus 3 others lose in the Blood Round… they also had McGowan almost beat Robinson Thursday night before he blew it at the end , and Norman was ranked top 5/10 all year and almost knocked off O’Toole Thursday night
