How Are + /- Decided for Each Player When on the Court?

Regardless if the team is playing man to man or zone, the game is fluid so imo the statistic derived from this calculation is probably not significant.

Please give an example showing the effects of bringing in a 6th man on the team, when the player doesn't score, grab a rebound , make a pass, steal or turnover.

This seems like a MLB version of WAR....which I regard as Vodoo Stats!
