Discussions need to focus on what needs to be done to improve Rutgers Basketball, not thread after thread that only beat the drum of negativity that has surrounded Rutgers Basketball for the last 25 years.

I propose that we have separate pinned threads for anyone who wants to point out issues related to Coaching, Recruiting, Player development,, Facility issues, Etc..

Threads or individual posts started several times a week repeating the same thing would not be allowed.

Individual threads or comments criticizing players would not be allowed and should be eliminated...unless they offer tangible suggestions about what that player needs to do to improve.

oh please you are in the far far minority here. Its not your fault you don't know how to participate

I think people on this board are focusing on what needs to be done to improve Rutgers basketball you just don't appear to agree with those opinions. Looking at the thread titles, they seem to cover the topics you are already referring to. There isn't enough activity on this board to really require pinning anything because nothing drops off. Also, if you feel the vibe on this board is a little too negative, repetitive, etc. I believe the Round Table board is designed to be what you are looking for.

You want to talk strategy...what could have been done so Maryland wasn't up 43-15 late in the 1st half....

1. Substitute for Foreman or Lewis early knowing that you need both players and they needed to be fresh
2. When a 7 footer attempts to guard a 6'3'' guard isolate or set a screen to see if the guard can beat the center off the dribble. Keeping the said player standing still on the perimeter probably not optimal
3. When it appears guards are not getting the team in sets and are taking wacky shots early in the shot clock a time out or substitution is wise
4. On the free throw line have players box out and don't allow your guys to be pushed under the basket so they are out of the play.
5. Tell Foreman to either stop putting his head down and doing the same move over and over OR when he penetrates look to pass to the opposite wing or corner
6. Tell guards when they penetrate a shot doesn't have to go up.
7. When your opponent gets a defensive rebound sprint to the paint and match up. Please tell team going for steals in most cases is a cover up for not sprinting down the court.

We were down by 40 at one point. Should we ignore that?

like asking Mrs Lincoln how she enjoyed the play

Eddie thought we had 100% effort. What type of message does that send to your team? Makes it seem like it was a valiant effort having the 5th grade B team playing the 7th grade A team.

Could you imagine if Ohio was a mod?

This board would be a ghost town.
The only posters would be him and ...
The other guy's name escapes me at the moment...

I don't participate by posting the same thing over and over. That's good conversation and discussion....lol. I'll wear your criticism like a badge of honor !

Do you realize that the same 7 people posting the same comments over and over have driven away everyone that wants to engage in legitimate conversations about basketball....like Higgins. Of all the posters that do not like Jordan, only FIG really discusses what's wrong with the product on the court by giving example and commenting on what improvements he would like to see happen so that the team plays better. You,Sir, are not FIG.

Maybe you think saying the same time over and over will sway the powers to be to take action....if so, that's a little naïve.

The basketball board is now like the free football board.

When legitimate criticisms were brought up, Ohio bent over backwards while flat out making things up that Eddie never said to try and squash the discussion.

To see him start this thread is like comedy hour.

Everybody should have their say within certain obvious boundaries. If you don't like what someone consistently posts, you can always put them on ignore. I'm for a free and open board even for those whose opinions I find idiotic, ludicrous, or reprehensible.

Something has to be done in practice to get players to realize what is happening on the court. We have a guard that never realizes the players behind him continue to run. It's as if when he gets past them he thinks they stand still. Too many times court awareness is zero.

Maybe during practice 5 on 5, it's time to stop play and have the players stand where they are and see what is happening on the court. Develop court awareness, drill it into them until they get it.

Go start your own message board and implement those rules.

Something about Eddie's game package

The problem with discussing what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix it in itself is a frustrating repetitive set of posts...I am personally sick and tired of this whole mess that has been going on FOREVER. It has become a complete joke (well has been for years).

Under the circumstances...I think it is pretty calm here. Folks have given up here because they have given up on Rutgers basketball. Just look at the stands and the parking lots.

my vote is this board is fine as is. I actually like this core group (positive or negative) who have actually shown their to commitment to RU BBall to still be posting here with this train wreck.

Ohio has to go

Maybe I should secede from the Union.

Next year, I can promise everyone, when Rutgers has a full roster of non-injured players, with two 2 high energy/high flying guards in Sanders and Johnson, shooters spreading the floor, quick athletic defenders at the SF spot, an active big body defender/rebounder down low in Doorson and a high energy and healthy Freeman........I won't say, I told you so. I'll be humble, sit back and enjoy it. Then, those beating the drum of negativity can find some other Rutgers program to criticize, continue to be negative and miserable......maybe women's field hockey. I hear they are going through a rough time. Or, maybe go to the Football board and criticize Coach Ash and the players.

must be nice to live in a world of unicorns and rainbows

Can't all be happy thinking the land of doom and gloom is unending.
Sometimes seeing something positive in a program surrounded by negativity is nice.
Might not happen, but good to see someone thinks it can.

Yea, having a positive attitude and outlook really sucks. As opposed to be miserable and negative....Is that the Jersey way ? I was born and raised in Jersey, so I know how negative people are about their own state. What's that saying, "They eat their own". I am not blaming you...you are a product of your environment. You always have to have something to complain about, I get it !

lmfao...you know I have just been going through OLD posts dating back to last season where some like you were ga ga over guys like Ryan Johnson and Justin Goode and saying no big loss with Mack and Jack. So spare me all of the greatness coming next year. Of course we will be better...you cant be much worse than 7 wins this year...you will be right but to think its truly getting better..believe me its not. Hopefully there is a new coach next year and we can truly look forward

Shoot me, I'm a positive person and yes, Sanders and Freeman are upgrades, unfortunately, Freeman is hurt and the best rebounder low post defender and rebounder in Doorson is out for the year.

Let me ask, does it really make you feel good by posting the same things over and over ? Will your comments get the coach fired? Will your comments get Danny Hurley hired? He had his chance and understood this was a 7 year build. ;

3-2-1......for the Flood comments. Let me intercept them, He was not fired because of message board comments saying over and over that he must go.....it was off field scandals and other things.

There should always be a reason for hope and we all should be glad to see someone that still retains a glimmer of hope that next season will be the start of the RU MBB program being a good one
Slim to none is still better than none at all.
Also it helps the MBB discussion move from attacking the RU MBB program, some members of the team, the coaching staff, the hire coach X posts and the whines about wishing you ( name past HC ) were here right now .
When a positive poster rears his/her ugly head, we can attack that poster for being positive instead of the usual doom and gloom messages about everything RU MBB.:cool2:[banana]

There are only about 7 people who follow this program and they are the only ones arguing here.
Was there even a game last night?
I have lost all interest and no longer care to watch away games.
The fanbase has been beaten down.
Paying Eddie 1 million for this result is an insult.
At one time there was a big fanbase and the RAC rocked.
Today it is a place for visiting fans to enjoy.
The fanbase can be re-energized.
Need to start from scratch.

What needs to be done to improve the program is getting a new HC. Such a discussion begins and ends with this.
