Indiana

Super tough three game stretch for UNC. Having to play 60 minutes on Sunday probably isn’t doing them any favors today.

ACC is trash this year too to bottom. Duke their only good team deserves to be ranked about 20th. That’s it. Virginia has good D but will be exposed against anyone with a high scoring offense and could bow out rd 1 of the NCAAs, not impressed

it will be close, 18 right now...could hang on at 24 or 25, I mean losing at Indiana isnt a bad loss at all, neither was their earlier losses
Agreed, none of those were bad losses, but god damn even that Portland game wasn’t a particularly convincing win

So the ACC beat the BIG10 8-6 head to head, what does that make the BIG10? I hate the ACC but let’s get real. Right now RU has a lot of questions to be answered very quickly, otherwise this season could get away from them.

Eh, what good has winning the Challenge done the Big Ten lately? It’s all about matchups. As one example, Purdue literally just smacked Duke around the week before this thing, and PU was clearly matched up terribly.

One reason that I don't care that it's disappearing is that the matchups are increasingly sillier every year. I don't know who ultimately decides, but it sure seems like ESPN is getting more and more glamour matchups every season. In the beginning (I was watching from the ACC side) they mostly matched them down the line by previous season intra-conference rankings. I preferred that.

As you said, some of the matchups are just not sensible, but those are just filler for ESPN, to complement the prime-time glamour games...

The ACC is better than some suggest here but again these challenges often come down to simply matchups. I think most of the games went as expected with the favorites winning. UVA was tight with Michigan but still won. I think the only true "upset" was ND beat #20 MSU by 18. All the other ranked faves won - Illinois, Maryland, Duke, Indiana, Purdue.

as disappointing as tonight was a perfect scenario for a letdown is setting up if they hold on and beat UNC, they will be ranked at least 9, already are 8 in coaches poll
Letdown??????

After what Ron did on their court there will be zero letdown. If I am Indiana I don’t want to just beat Rutgers. I want to win by 30 and embarrass them.

What really concerns me is they have the personnel to make us look bad offensively.

This is not Archie Miller any more. Woodson year 2 fortified with freshman. This will be a tough as nails team and a terrible match up for us. Forget the Indiana teams of the past 5 years. This is different.

You think that hasn’t been the case after we beat them the last 5 times?

yes but there is always let downs after a team comes off a big win and Indiana as a program has not been in this spot. Intangibles matter. Normally I would predict Indiana 71-58 but feel that RU could have a chance to keep this pretty close and even sneak out a win. I had this pencilled as a loss long before any injuries to our team

Hope you have the guts and come on these boards after that game and assess your silly comments.

Indiana winning by double digits is certainly a possibility. Im not saying its going to happen but its not far fetched at all. I do see Indiana having a letdown though

Ron Harper held his ba!!$ on their homecourt in front of the team and fans. trust me, no let down.

What’s so silly about his comment that IU is going to smoke us? It’s not an outlier at all with Paul likely out and with IU riding high right now.
Because we own Indiana. UNC could not hit the the shot last night and played a really poor game especially Caleb Love and RJ Davis their guards and were still within 8 points late. Plus I guess you forgot that we are playing from home. Let’s see it before proclaiming something in fact that has no basis in history. How far back you want to go , 2 years, 3 years , 4 years , back to Corey Sanders poster slam in their faces ? Where’s the history ?

The RHJ item is irrelevant to this year's matchup, just like Geo Baker dunking on them 3 years ago at the RAC or RUs recent winning streak against IU in general.

Indiana has played one road game and that was at Xavier. I would like to think that even minus Mulcahy, the RAC and RU with Cliff and Caleb now back, are as good or better than Zack Freemantle and Jack Nunge of Iowa. Neither stood a chance to slow down Jackson-Davis or Renaau, the star 6-10 frosh from Indiana.

Indiana is still extremely erratic at guard and you can move the ball and score on them. They will be in for a very hostile RAC this weekend.

You know I will, will you.
You make such overbroad statements that are harshly critical of our players , our student athletes , never a positive post and only come on after a loss. If you have been on these basketball boards for any length of time , not the foot ball board , you will know I will be here win or lose. I also can give constructive criticism on Coach Pike or a player that has messed up without your level of disdain. So show up along with all the others that only show up after losses. We will welcome your dialogue and hypocrisy.

Exactly! And right before the challenge, Perdue blew out Duke on a neutral floor.

Archie Miller isn't the coach. This isn't the same team.

This team wins with defense AND our player disrespected the team and fans.

I want to be wrong here.

We beat this coach twice last year if I’m not mistaken.
I guess Greene is buying into all the Indiana hype from the media preseason and considers our history against them or their coach is irrelevant. That is one viewpoint but your viewpoint seems to make more logical sense.

Kopp played 34 minutes. Galloway didn't play

This year Kopp's minutes are being reduced by freshman.

Xavier Johnson, who I didn't think highly of, looked very good against UNC and seems more of a team player.

Indiana doesn't have a look, to me, as an overrated team.

I watched them against UNC and what really concerns me is their guards went after UNC guards and had them running offense 30+ feet from the basket and were contesting every pass. I feel that is Rutgers 2022-23 Kryptonite.

If we we win it will be 55-51 type of score.

Indiana has a defense which wasnt always true in other seasons. They have the best player on the court and it isnt even close. I dont think RU can win this game if they dont score 70 plus
