Injuries yes. But 0-whatever in the Big Ten (OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS),,,not acceptable. Did anyone wonder why when Jordan was hired that the newspapers only talked about him being a NBA coach, but didn't mention his record. He has never won anywhere. Nice guy...but what is the saying..."NICE GUYS FINISH LAST" I know that doesn't pertain to all nice guys. I'm just saying that being a nice guy doesn't give you a pass for being a bad coach.

I'm sure I'm going to get crap for this post. But let's talk 2 years from now when Jordan gets let go and RU's Men's B-B team is still in turmoil.

Not sure he's such a nice guy. Calling fans uneducated because they don't like what's going on. He's a hustler that came to pick RU's wallet and fatten his own

Who is the replacement that will make things improve significantly?
Will Rutgers pay for him and a top-notch staff?

Jordan mentioned at the CC meeting that he doesn't read the papers to know how the fans feel. Of course the supporters at the meeting said please don't. So I don't know where you got your information that he called fans uneducated if he doesn't pay attention to those things. Sarcasm meter on.

You guys are brutal

Of course coaches have their ear to the ground on what people (including fans and media) are saying. I am sure most coaches do, even though they say they don't.

Why do you care?

You guys over analyze everything.

"Brutal" doesn't get it done ! EJ is a "hustler" ? Just try to to fatten his wallet ? Hey, he may not be cutting it as a ball coach right now, but John Wooden couldn't squeeze many wins out of this injured, "no-height" roster.

Wooden would never be coaching this roster - its Eddies roster

Right ! He should never have recruited guys who get hurt ! Hey. I'm not an EJ apologist. But it's very hard to judge his ability to coach when he has only 7 scholarship players, no height and a suspended star PG. And at the risk of infuriating the negatoids, I think it's only fair to point out that the team is still playing hard despite a depressing record and it's clear (to me, at least) that the kids are improving, both individually and as a team. Again, I'm not arguing that he's a great coach. I don't know if he is. But be fair to the guy and calling him a "hustler" is a little overboard.

recruiting a point guard that had a lot of question marks, recruiting guys that have been hurt before - sometime its not just bad luck

Listen, I'm not a fan of EJ right now, but at Washington her inherited a horrible team and went 25-57 in year 1, followed by:

45-37 - 1st trip to playoffs since '97
42-40 - 1st playoff series win since 1982
41-41 - playoffs
43-39 - playoffs
1-10

....so, yeah, he finished under .500 at Washington but he took a horrible roster, and turned into a 4-year playoff team, in a very short time.

He probably doesn't read the Ledger's coverage of RU, but reads this board from time to time and has an opinion about some of the posters on this board [laughing]

please stop...its not the NBA

0-36 vs ken pom top 250...that's all the analysis you need, you can try to cling to some sort of ridiculous notion of the team playing hard despite all the losing as progress but its a sign of desperation

the team was atrocious early in the year with Freeman and Diallo and everyone healthy..spare me that Doorson didn't play, RU had a full team yet couldn't put away Central Arky until the buzzer and Rutgers Newark/CCSU until late and blew 13 point leads vs Wake and SJU as Eddie coached abysmally during the meltdowns

but that's not getting into the program management aspect to which his supporters keep ignoring and for some reason despite 3 years of shakiness feel that it doesn't exist or will just magically go away

You cannot compare what he did in the pros vs college. Apple and oranges.

Year 2 in a long rebuild Jordan is not going anywhere.

You guys want to bring up successful coaches and how they would do in a similar situation.

How many college coaches have an ex-wife on a crappy reality television show and embarrassing the coach of our program?

Enough is a enough. Jordan will get a nice buyout and he can continue to buy nice shoes and go out on nice dates

As coach Ash said - without improved facilities you will have another new coach in 5 years.

Jordon is in the same boat in year 3.

Jordan's resume at Rutgers has nothing to do with facilities and he took the $1.15 million annual salary knowing where Rutgers stood among its peers. He makes more than Lonergan and Danny Hudley combined. Or Mark Schmidt at St Bonnie's, which is ranked among the top 40.

If Eddie figured a way to teach and defend the 3 as much as he did deflecting blame for his performance we wouldn't be calling for his head. Or visiting a gym and developing relationships instead of taking a page from Steve Lavin and thinking he's smarter than everybody else

Holy shit fellas I'm not supporting EJ, nor do I think one has anything to do with the other, and have you not read a single thing I've said the past few months? All I'm doing is posting FACTS about Eddie's time coaching Washington to support that, while he DID have a losing record there, he accomplished a hell of a lot once he cleaned up the mess he was given (in regards to the OP's comments...).

Geeeze!!!! :uzi::uzi::chairshot::chairshot::uzi::uzi::chairshot::chairshot:

Teach and defend the 3. Right. Just google some of the new Rutgers football HC comments regarding his football facilities and maybe that will help you as per the current basketball setup.

You dudes are lost. This is the Big Ten, competition is elevated. Donate 100M and BB facilities will improve to benefit recruiting. I do not see that happening anytime soon until the 2021 B1G$ shows. You get what you pay for.

15 straight losses last year....14 league loss plus 7 non conference losses......0-36 vs kenpom top 250

please get your facts straight.....and accept them 0-36 vs ken pom top 250 HORRIFIC with a H. In fact the highest rated school we beat is FDU at 288!

and its soon to be 0-36 vs rpi top 250 as well as FDU has dropped to 249

You keep on counting the losses this year like you are expecting us to win. Why continue to cite this depleted roster's record. Admittedly you and your fire Eddie trio, concedes Coach K, or Cal would win 2 games . So instead of 0-14 the they would be 2-12 and 259 instead of 294 in kenpom. What is the damn difference? This season is over and has been for a while. We are hoping to see effort, hopefully some improvement , a few freshman get better, a few sophomores get better. We have 3 seniors, that with the exception of 2 games that they each excelled at, but not at the same time or the same game , have given us little. What the hell do you expect ? Stop the repetitive bullshit. It is as old as your first posts.

How about the 2nd sentence from the OP? The 0-36 vs top 250 is also wrong. But don't let me stop you guys from having fun.
Ok

How about 0-29 vs the Big Ten
0-3 vs. Big East
0-2 vs ACC
and losses to GW and Monmouth. (0-2)

There's your 0-36 vs anything with a pulse since Wisconsin last year. But I'm sure there is a more fair assessment of the situation.

Our wins since beating Wisconsin - Rutgers-Newark, Howard, Central Arkansas, Central Connecticut St, FDU, UMass-Lowell.

It's actually worse when you go thru it in detail. I can't believe anyone can support the current coaches after reading this. Here's another fair question - how did he lose 15 straight last year?

Beating St Johns up 16 would have been nice. Beating Wake up 12 with nine minutes left would have been good as well.

What do I expect? To not have the worst basketball program year after year. We have a chance to start over again in a couple of weeks and not waste another 12 months. That's what I hope happens.

the Eddie supporters just want to pretend we are not going to break the all time Rutgers losing record held by Littlepage, but also became the 2nd longest Big 10 conference losing streak behind University of Chicago who left the conference after settting theirs but also ignore 0-36 soon to 0-41 vs top 250 and 5-41. if they don't acknowledge it didn't happen and they are in pure spin mode calling us the loons

5-41 folks over two years...they just want to say that doesn't matter..of course injuries had little to do with 0-15 to end the year last year and 5-7 in non conference...they somehow feel Eddie is immune or not responsible for this. Its really stunning that 5-41 is accepted by some and a belief of some enormous turnaround for a program that cant coach itself out of a bag.

If you were expecting a lot with this roster, and losing more guys along the way,,like Laurent for 4 games, then you have to go to one of those coaching clinics where they teach you about basketball.
Now if you wait until next year, we will have a very competitive team and then you and Bac will post those great kenpom numbers you like over and over again.

thank you bac for acknowledging the wins. You can also state that 4 of the wins last year were against top 85. I'm not defending his record but find it funny that you guys need to skew the already bad numbers to make your point.

If you exclude the wins, yes he is 0-36. I'm not defending his record but I am correcting the false data provided here.

Let's be clear. No one is happy with the record, the losing, the roster, We are people that look at a situation and can see the roster is a no win roster this year. That is the ultimate reality. You refuse to see it. Even a fifth grader can see it!! Why won't you? This isn't football and where that program has been the last 10 years. . This is basketball and our 25 years of lack of support, facilities, cheap hires , terrible ADs, I am not sure about the rest of your trio, but I truly believe you care about Rutgers University. No savior on a white horse is coming here to coach us out of the situation. Reality is harsh.

I am giving my opinion. We have the worst coach in school history, the equivalent of,Terry Shea for basketball, and the end of the season is two weeks away.

We have the chance to start over again with an AD that understands basketball and will clearly make it a priority. We also have plans to build a practice facility that we clearly need.

I have no interest in waiting 12 months to do what needs to get done. Any real college coach, be it Jim Engles or KIng Rice or Steve Maisello will put us in a better place then we are now.
