Because other than a couple of lucky jumpers, he can really only shoot layups. That’s why he drives 90% of the time.

We are weak. Period. Whoever Pikiell brought from Stony Brook (Van Dyke) is just not Big Ten level. team has weak hands, no speed, looks gassed, no ability to move bodies, etc
We are just a really bad team this year from coaching to players to support staff. Next game. Get this season over with.
I prefer Davis but I can’t call for kids to transfer. Just not me. If he goes, so be it. If he stays, Pike simply can’t play him big minutes

Hyatt’s gone. But will Pikiell do the right thing and let Simpson transfer? Sorry, but he’s not a high major player. I can see him thrive in a low major program like Marist.

I said this a thousand time after the Maryland game JD and DS cannot be your number 3 and 4 guards next year. I like JD because his shot selection is not like DS. But we need another guard who can shoot.
Davis isn’t going anywhere with Ace on board. He’s here for at least another year.
Simpson’s biggest problem is that he doesn't have 1 area he is shooting well to rely on and focus on

I think the hope would be that DS’ shot selection would be better when he’s not a main option. But he bricks the good shots too.
How so? How can anybody tell something like that watching on TV? He plays clean as far as I can see.
Game was lost in the first 5 minutes (again). Since then, it’s been played pretty evenly.
Maybe we can draw some technicals and he can go to the line without attempting a FG?
1 was a dunk. But let’s credit him for the other 3. Gorgeous shots Jerry West would have been in ecstatic awe of.
