Wow, this was such a bad hire. So short sighted.
Not that it makes the situation any better, except he does not appear to be leaning to another B1G team.I didn't realize that.
The way it typically works at every school is as follows: When they de-commit, they're gone.
Just like when coaches up and leave at the most inopportune time... like... Schiano did back in the day?Its getting intolerable....rule changes need to be put in place....kids words are as worthless as cheap toilet paper and schools are becoming like sleazy car salesman....what happened to honor. I've had it with this shit...lucky he's not my kid. Part of this IMO is on our staff too. What really T's me off is I came looking for a 2 star D-line commit only to find this....better not be VT who flipped him
Were you saying that he was lucky that he's not your kid or that you're lucky he's not your kid? Because that's key to understanding your level of outrage. Its getting intolerable....rule changes need to be put in place....kids words are as worthless as cheap toilet paper and schools are becoming like sleazy car salesman....what happened to honor. ... speaking of which, is Marques Ford red-shirting? I can't find a single 2015 stat for him.there are only be two types of situations where someone would sign in an early period. otherwise it is just stupid for a recruit to sign:
(1) you are a borderline recruit who can get recruited over or (2) it is your dream school and you have no reason to look around.
so under (1), borderline recruits with mac and d1aa offers will lock in rutgers, while those with other offers to p5 schools will be patient. and maybe under (2) we will get 1-2 guys who dreamed about rutgers - like a kevin malast or a ted field, but dream school is more for the michigans, texas, ohio states, alabamas of the world - where regardless of the coach, the school is still the school. we are not there yet.
early signing period will not fix anything.
Still wish we lost the USF game in 2013. That "win" kept us in purgatory for the past 2 seasons.I was ok with it at the time but as soon as it started heading South a couple of years ago...and with inclusion into the B1G, it was time to cut the cord.
Rutgers never learns any lessons from the past. The warning signs were there with Hill and Rice too. We need an "all out disaster" to even react, and when it does, we repeat the same process of hiring an inferior coach. Since Flood is still here, we haven't hit bottom yet.....lather...rinse...repeat.
He's a douche bag that bashes everything RU, players, coaches, admins and recruits. We don't need people like this supporting the program. You're wrong. He's a real nice guy. He just doesn't take you as seriously as you take you.
First off I have never bashed a recruit. Ever. I don't follow or comment on them for the most part. Actually think some that do are creepy. He's a douche bag that bashes everything RU, players, coaches, admins and recruits. We don't need people like this supporting the program.
Check vs chech. Supporter wars.Second I'm a 30 year season ticket holder and a much bigger supporter than you will ever be.
i don't think you understand what a false equivalency is. coaches walk away from signed contracts with buyout clauses - great, they are able/willing to do so. part of the game. And those contracts contain specific penalty clauses for early termination ("buyouts").
Good false equivalency.
But they Sky isn't Blue either.Kids decommit. It happens. At EVERY school.
Bottom line? We want kids that WANT to be HERE~
Sky AINT falling......:)
VM, you may have a future with the star liar. No academic fraud was committed. Flood foolishly and knowingly violated policy by contacting a professor in order for a player to perform extra credit to make a grade, but the system properly stopped his efforts and he was disciplined. Flood nor anyone else had knowledge of the criminal charges when he made the outreach to the professor so this comment is disingenuous. The AD swipe is baseless without examples of what she failed to do, and keep in mind most don't comment on active investigations. The suspension in my mind was to not not hurt the program or the student athletes, it is out of the ordinary so there is an opportunity to bitch if you are looking but it seems ok to me.
1) what flood did was quite literally the definition of academic fraud: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fraud
2) i didn't say he had knowledge of "criminal charges" - i said he had knowledge of an ongoing police investigation. what kind of utter moron does one have to be to knowingly and willfully break school policy for someone being who has been the subject of a months-long police investigation? even without knowing the outcome, before any charges were filed, an investigation that started during the spring semester is likely going to bear some fruit if they still have it going several months later.
3) "baseless without examples" is rich. where are the examples of her leadership or even stewardship through this crisis? describing her as a leader would be truly baseless. and this is coming from someone who was a fan! all the previous hand-wringing was totally uncalled for. now it is justified. i called her a no-show. that is not a swipe - that is a statement of fact.
4) of course the suspension wasn't intentionally levied to hurt the program. the fact of the matter: it is hurting the program anyway. how can we keep this guy on after he tries to lie and cheat his way into barnwell's eligibility? un-****ing-real. what are you even doing arguing for him? i legitimately don't understand it.
Yes. He is not into home invasions, underage drinking, using fake ID'S, beating up people including women and he will never need a coach to beg a professor to change a grade. Dude was never a good fit.
It was not fraud.
Another one who needs to buy a sense of humor.Dude, go root for somebody else.
No, it just wasn't all that funny. What was your punchline supposed to be? Way to paint our whole roster with the broad brush of the bad eggs.Another one who needs to buy a sense of humor.

i posted a link to the dictionary definition of fraud. you even quoted it. try clicking that link and maybe then you'll understand.Fraud? How so?
And while you are trying to rationalize that charge, tell us how you got a degree when you do not understand the meaning of the word "fraud".
Wait so if Flood was not caught....it would not have been fraud?
The straw grasping....it really is amazing.
With what people do for Flood, what would they do if a coach who could beat winning teams committed fraud?
What Flood did was wrong, but it does not make it academic fraud.

Yes it does!! He was asking for a grade to be changed when it was after that possibility. My word some of you think this is a minor offense. He should have been fired! What Flood did was wrong, but it does not make it academic fraud.
