Johnathan Lewis

He's a natural. Plain and simple.
I knew he had good size, but didn't realize how big he was. He really is thick, along with his speed. His arm is very strong, but he needs to improve his touch and accuracy. This kid should be a much higher rated QB as his talent level is almost elite.

Well said. I too am surprised he's not rated higher.

I dont understand why now in the 3rd qtr SPP is only going w very short dump off passes and /or not having Lewis run anymore. Bad offensive plan.

I just said the same thing in the other thread then, bamm, he keeps it on the 1st play following the fumble. The 4th quarter might be all him and, possibly, to burn PC deep after a few successful keepers.

He's good but you guys really think he's ready to take over our team in the B1G? Take away his wheels, what has he done downfield?

He's thrown some beautiful passes that would be caught by FBS receivers. I'm all for him RS'ing, anyway, but I don't think his arm is any type of an issue.

Tough fumble, however, GREAT hit by the PC kid. Right on the ball.

No, but I think he will be better than Oden next year. He has a very strong arm and has missed a few throws down field. He has also thrown some rockets when he needed to. Needs to work on touch and accuracy.

I was all in for Oden saving us. But if he wasn't ready he wasn't ready. My Lewis expectations have been sincerely tempered. That's all I'm saying. As of now he's 3rd on the depth chart.

One has absolutely nothing to do with the other (and, again, I'd love to see the kid RS).

On that last scoring drive, he made some throws that no QB on Rutgers made this season - throwing across his body with velocity. I still would like him to red shirt.

Absolutely, however, his OL is A LOT better than Lewis'. That helps. He gets a ton of time back there. Lewis is making passes when he's getting hit almost every play.

What game did you watch?

Brito took a straight drop about 3 times.

And Hansen blitzed one time all night.

Brito's entire game is that water bug juking around stuff

Lewis throws nearly every ball 120mph. He needs to spend the next 5 months working on his touch and shortening his delivery. His delivery has a big loop in it.

That said, he's still better than anyone on the roster here

I was very impressed with Lewis. He is built like an NFL QB. He has all the tools, but I would like to see him red shirt if possible to develop his other QB skills. The problem is he might be our 2nd best QB from day one and maybe even our best QB.

Not really what I said, re: Brito, and the gist of my point re: Lewis stands, but agree with your point about Lewis needing to slow down. Good call there!

Hope he does RS.
Ash made a mistake burning Oden's for only 8 passes .
Hate to see Lewis play before he's ready and wind up on the bench more than the field.

The day Lewis steps foot on campus, he will be the most physically ready on our roster to play QB. The 2 passes he completed rolling to his left and throwing across his body on a dime down the field is a throw only he would be able to throw on this roster. The kid showed a willingness to stand in and take a hit while throwing the ball, something I never saw Nova do once in his entire career here. Lewis did it a couple of times tonight.

While he definitely has things to work on, I will be absolutely stunned if he doesn't play a ton next year after seeing what I saw this year from our current QB's.

And Simon is better than Cioffi. I'm dead serious.

Simon is 100% better than Cioffi that's not hyperbole. But I swear to god I'm not joking when I say that 5'8 kid from Paramus could've probably ran our offense better than Laviano this year.

Simon is ranked as the #410 player in the class of 2018 and the #34 safety. He has offers from Rutgers, UNC, Syracuse and BC. On the broadcast, they said he also has on offer from Stanford and expect many more.He is a high 3-star and may be a 4-star by next year. Cioffi was ranked as a lower 3-star prospect when he came out of high school.

WGAS. WGAF. Cioffi has graduated. He played hard and through injury in his senior season. Don't see the need for a comparative analysis of a high school kid who has not taken snap in college as a backhanded slap against a loyal son. SMH.

Sooooo, the 5'8" kid. He a senior? Return specialist? Slot receiver?

And less than zero, h? Haven't we talked about this?

The 5'8" kid is Andrew Britto. He's PC's quarterback.

He would last about 6.5 seconds on B10 football field before he was broken in half. He's the textbook undersized HS quarterback. He is slippery and has a set of onions. He's a kid who could end up in the Patriot League and be a quality player. He's not a P5 scholarship player. Jimmy Cavallo, the color guy on the broadcast, was screaming "we'd love to see Britto running the Navy offense." I almost threw my remote through the TV.

And I like to defy the rules of probability for hyperbolic effect...lol

Is not like the Navy QB has to be particular big. I mean, he's only gonna throw what, two or three times per game. So is not like he needs to see over the line. And all those Army linebackers wouldn't be able to see him behind the blockers. Not to mention that, at 5'8", he could execute cut blocks without bending over.

I think you should reconsider. :D

If a guy is ready to play in September or October there isn't a need to red shirt.

Keenan Reynolds was about 5'9 and he rushed for like 500 touchdowns at Navy and almost won the Heisman.

If you are prone to injury, maybe Britto isn't the best last name in the world. Kind of like that kicker whose name is Blewitt (although better probably than Wide-Right).

EDIT: Don't mean to imply he's prone to injury. I know nothing about him. Just know I like smaller football players who are really fast, shifty, and fearless. Never had an ounce of fast or shifty when I was playing. As to fearless, I think that often gets conflated with stupid.
