Jordan fired

No confidence in Hobbs, eh?

It has to be earned. As willis (and I) said, firing is the easy part. We don't need to make change for the sake of change, and even making a Waters type hire here won't fix the problem (though the Waters years were still miles ahead of where we are now). It's been 32 years since Tom Young left, and a solid basketball program left with him.

The jury will be out on Hobbs' hires for a few years still. We'll have a rough idea with football in December or January. Maybe this time next year we'll know about the type of hire we have for basketball.

Boy it's a damn good thing the Marshall coach went down with his team, otherwise his AD would have fired his arse!

How fast was the firing? The pep band still hasn't gotten back home yet!

It had to be done as soon as you decide Jordan wouldn't get it done, injuries or not. No reason to wait another season and hope for the best.

However, I will hold off on calling Hobbs the greatest AD of all time at Rutgers because he fired two coaches that clearly were not succeeding. Let's see who he hires hwre and how that coach and Ash work out over the next couple of seasons. So far so good but is is early in that process.

i agree with the love for Hobbs. Feels great to to have a real AD, someone who can
talk in public, doesn't put his foot in his mouth, knows football, basketball, etc. I just hope
he knows women's volley ball { no not really}. He has great contacts, also he
killed the idea of putting teams in the basement of the south bleaches.
ANNND he has a terrific memory, he remembers being best man
at his friends wedding....
But the big winners are us fans, we have endured so much for so long.
And Barchi ,who might be getting Big Ten fever. because it seems he learned
a lesson too, you just can't hire someone for such an important job that has this
huge National spotlight on it, for political reasons. Rutgers does embarrass it's
its' itself a lot. But that that one decision really takes the cake. (a wedding cake that
never existed}.

Well, it will be easy to evaluate the AD's performance in 5 years. Cleaned house and began anew...His success will be measured by Ash and the new men's BB coach...nothing else is relevant..
