Kwe Parker decommits

Just saw this....

While I'm pissed as hell at him, part of me can understand why he wouldn't want to come here. But if he goes to Wake he's a fool. I think we have a better chance at making noise in the B1G then Wake does in the ACC in the future. Tim Duncan ain't coming back and despite my disdain for them, the ACC is the best bball conference right now especially at the top(might change if UNC gets an actual punishment but what are the odds of that?)

Makes you appreciate Corey committing to us a little more.

Let's shock the world for the next four years starting Friday night!

Solid recruiting classes are generally built in November, not April.

It does not matter what the general rule is. That is what we are dealing with. Kids are gonna want to see us play and compete. If there are kids that we have targeted that are already sold we will know in the next ten days.

There's a couple of things in that post. I agree that we'll know in the next 10 days or so about the kids who are already sold. I don't agree that the route to success requires kids to commit only after we play and compete. Rebuilding takes fits and starts, and that inevitably requires some kids who commit even before the uptick. If RU gets nobody, that's a bad sign.

Moreover, good recruits, as a rule, don't hold out past the early signing period just because they want to see whether one particular downtrodden team might be improving. The best, most wanted recruits almost always sign in November. Sanders did. The April class is often the land of misfit toys, where you've got much greater risk of failure. It always has been. RU has had to shop in that market way too often, and it's never a good sign. I hope that RU isn't shopping exclusively or primarily in that market next year.

well it certainly looks like we will be again shopping in the Spring; The early signing period starts tomorrow and we have zero verbal commitments (we only had 1 -- Parker -- when he decommitted). I thought this year would be a good solid next step with a few solid Nov. signees. Doesnt look like we will have ANY. Unfortunately then so much is riding on this season to show enough progress that the staff has more credibility selling their vision next year and can land a solid fall recruiting class instead of shopping in the Spring leftover bin or looking for incoming transfers. Have to remember that progress is not always linear. But it sure is tough being a fan of this school this year (except for soccer and wrestling)

I hear what your saying.

Hey, look. We have missed on our plan A guys. We knew that weeks ago.
What im saying is, of the guys RU is targeting. April will bring home two or three of them. The Juco for example will not commit until he grades out at the end of his school year. I believe the staff believes Thiam will commit this period. With a solid showing the guys like Rafus, Diallo and Thomas could be sold. If that ends up being the class then im a happy guy. And so will the rest of the board.
Point being, I hope you and others do not intend to cry every step of the way thru this process. Its annoying and childish. I think its great you go to the games. Really, I do. But you are the biggest busskill I never met in my life. Please, for goodness sakes, its a process. It will not go smoothly.
But until this ship be sinking, lets act like we`re going somewhere.
I promise I will never interupt your pity party again.

I expect Jordan to have a tough time getting his A list.
But if he can coach up the B list that signs up, the As will be easier to get in the future.
Get an A add some good Bs have them = W and recruiting will go a little easier when going after your A list team

You're essentially putting detail to my general point. This sounds like the typical April discussion. If, maybe, we'll see, can he qualify, etc.

Look, lots of teams look for kids in April. But very few to none of them look for their ENTIRE class in April. If this turns out to be the case, it's very concerning.

I have nothing to add my man. Lol
