Layups Part 3

Hyatt didn’t miss a layup. He was 7 feet from the basket. The previous possession Cliff took it strong and got stuffed taking a shot from the same spot.

At least give credit for a Hyatt at least getting the OREB. This wasn’t like his miss in the Miami game
Hyatt wasn't 7 feet away. Someone posted the freeze frame of him right as he is letting go of the ball. He is directly in front of the rim. It's a gimme. His feet were at the semi circle and he's leaning towards the basket. You're trying to make it like this wasn't an easy look. It was. He choked... again

A shot goes up with very little time left, there’s a scramble for the rebound, you come down with it. In that time you’ve lost track of how much time is still on the clock but you know there’s not much, so you come out of your usual mechanics and frantically try and get a shot up. It’s a bad mistake, but it happens.

The Miami one is more inexcusable in my opinion.

There was 7 or 8 seconds left when he got the ball. He was more scared of getting blocked than the time IMO

Miami one was worse

You’re probably right, didn’t realize how much time there was left but it’s legit 8 seconds, in my brain there was less time.

The weird thing is there’s no one who’s in any position to contest the shot. The only person who’s even close to being in position to contest is Odukale and it almost looks like he’s boxing out one of his teammates when Hyatt starts going up with it

The thing that drives me almost as crazy as the missed layup is all four other guys are just spectating instead of trying to follow the shot.
