It’s not so much is it better or worse. I think the team either needs to be at 12-8 with a loss at Purdue, or 11-9 with a win at Purdue, to have a tourney bid fairly secured before the conference tournament. Anything less than that and an opening round conference tourney win is a must.

Edit: Even at 12-8 or 11-9 as described above, I wouldn’t feel confident with a first game conf tourney loss. Team has tons of work to do, bottom line.
