First Round Pod Location Assignments
1. 32 Automatic Bids to Conference Tournament Champions
2. 36 At- Large Bids
3. Last 4 At -Large pared down to 2 and given #11 seeds
4. Last 4 Conference pared down to 2 and given #16 seeds.
5. Schools are ranked 1-64. This determines both the game matchups and the pod locations.
6. There are 8 locations for first round games. Each locations hosts 2 pods. Teams ranked
1-16 are sequentially given the location closest to their school from the remaining available pods.
The other 3 schools in a particular pod have NO CHOICES.
Examples Team 1 -Baylor to St Louis plays Team 64
Other Game is Team 32 vs. Team 33
Team 12- Seton Hall to Albany & plays Team 53
Other Game is Team 21 If vs Team 44

If this formula results in teams repeating regular season or confernce games in the first round, they’ll make an adjustment
