Basketball NCAA statement regarding Coronavirus (NO FANS)

Nebraska coach is sick with something on the bench tonight . This sh@t is getting scary

Wrong. SK did not close the border with China, since they didn't want to piss off their biggest trading partner and frisky neighbor - in fact, it's why SK was one of the early outbreak sites after China. They have just done far better addressing the outbreaks, as I've detailed painstakingly in the other thread. The fact that we haven't adopted their approach of aggressive testing and aggressive social distancing is negligent and borderline criminal.
South Korea shares a border with the ChiComs?

Is this like the Germans bombing Pearl Harbor?

The Tournament with the asterisk attached.
Do the first four in really want to be the last four out ?
What a messacary for sure.

jesus i have to unload on the early games today with what's left in my sportsbook account, might be last chance

let's remember 50 million contracted H1N1 about 10 years ago 12k died

and there was nowhere near this hysteria. mostly because of social media. 10 years ago if 100 new cases announced in NJ on a single day there was not 1k twitter feeds and 100k facebook accounts screaming it out and knowingly or unknowingly promoting fear.

wash your hands a LOT, use your head on where and where not go. hunker down little bit when not at work. if you have a kid, no safer place than the ball field for batting practice, park to shoot hoops, track to get some training in.

It’s easier for Korea...one closed border to the north, water on the other three sides, homogeneous population...sane people.

South Korea does not have a border with China sunshine...they have a border with North Korea...check a map once in a while

I obviously misspoke, but the point remains that you made an incorrect, flippant post about SK and how they've been able to be one of the only countries to come close to controlling their outbreak, via aggressive testing and aggressive social distancing - they've had significantly fewer cases the past several days than they were having. Of course, there's no border, but they didn't ban travel from China, which is why they were one of the first major outbreak sites outside of China.

If we followed the advice of many who think this is no big deal and did nothing, we'd likely have 5-10X more deaths than from the flu (150-600K instead of the 30-60K we see from the flu) and we'd have most of them (and serious infections requiring hospitalizations) occurring in a very short period overwhelming our systems.
