tactical question
Your are up 10-4 with 1;01 of riding time.
Why do you choose down when you know you will lose the riding time.

GO POZ

You have to choose down. Let’s say Poz is winning a 4-3 match for argument sake. If he stands up, he’ll lose the potential riding point but gain 1 with the escape. Then if he gets taken back down, the live score will be 5-5. An escape gives him the lead.

If he chooses neutral in a 4-3 match, and suffers a take down, he’s now down 5-4, and needs an escape for a tie. And he loses the riding point anyway.

OK, that makes sense. I was thinking offense!!!

The thing with Poz and what killed him against Hidlay was that on bottom he looks to score the reversal. He’s constantly in his tripod applying back pressure and looking for that hook or step over. He had many falls in his career scoring from bottom as we have already seen.

If he worked to get the one vs Hidlay I think he gets out in 30, but Trent was damn tough on his feet so I get the strategy. Same thing that cost David Taylor vs Dake where he spent nearly an entire period bating Dake to ride legs so he could work the reversal.

With that said, this kid came into his freshman year nearly a finished product. Multiple Natty title runs in his future folks.

Holy sh*t Rivera looks like crap. Looks uninterested and tired. down 6-0 and 2:39 of riding time.

Sea bass would probably fare better at 133. He’s definitely struggling against the top guys at 141.

Wilson very underrated.
He got decked in the 1st period by Eierman. Who was destroying him before the fall. There is no way Rivera should be on the verge of getting majored by this kid.

Still don't think Rivera is a small 141 pounder after seeing this manhandling?? He is obviously an ELITE talent and his skill can make up for the size in most matches but in these tournaments agains the top guy it really shows.

What does that have to do with it? Eireman almost decked Yianni. He was my pick to win this thing since November.
This kid is not under rated, he was the #4 seed, yet doesn't hold a candle to the top guy. Rivera is not this bad to lose 15-5 to this kid. Rivera did not have a great tournament the way he lost to Lee and now this kid.

Wilson is good but Rivera checked out after his loss. Not what you want to see from your team leader.

I've heard on a few of his interviews that he tends to do that. It really showed this time around. He had zero interest in this match. I think some weight room time would be very helpful for him if he is to compete at 141 next year.

Whatever dude. Some of you guys just like to argue I think.

He will need to for sure. Also, don’t forget Ashnault admitted to checking out his junior year after losing in the semis for the second year in a row. Guys are human. SeaBass has brought a lot to this program and another AA so I’m not going to kill the kid.

It was a perfect example of what happens when you move up in weight class and you go up against guys who cut weight to get to that class. The size different was too much. With wrestling at the high levels, every little thing counts.

Seabass is a very good wrestler, but he is barely 141. Next year should be better. If there is a next year.

He’s probably best suited for 133 but he said he doesn’t want to cut weight. Maybe he’ll have a change of heart, who knows?

Most of our wrestlers are on the stockier side (Alvarez the exception).
That is why I would be very happy to see a certain 165 pounder who is lanky transfer to program,
Would really help Turley in the room.

Everyone needs to chill. Wilson is a top 4 wrestler in the country. You can't be angry if SeaBass checked out and looked disinterested or even tired or a little sluggish. He's a human being and it happens to many after the disappointment of not achieving your goals. I agree SeaBass would be best at 133 but he doesn't want to cut a ton as he did that for a long time. Maybe that changes for next season. Either way, he'll be fine and in the hunt for a national title. I'm sure he'll work even harder on the mat and in the weight room too.

Not just helpful but necessary. He's an elite talent with a championship ambition, yet nowhere to accomplish it. Fix is a lock at 133. Sebastion has to spend a great deal of time building muscle mass. The teal may benefit from him at 133 and Sammy at 141 but Seabass can only accomplish his goal at 141. He has to build up. Added strength together with his skill will give him a chance.

As I wrote this, I remembered that he beat Lee twice at 125. Maybe he can beat Fix but would still need to muscle up.

sea bass beat super spense twice.....at 125 he was much stronger.....he tried to throw n.lee , but failed...n.lee looked bigger, and stronger
at 133 i think he could beat rby, not sure about fix,,,fix looks jacked, and i can't see rby beating him.......sea bass needs to hit the weights, and put on some solid muscle....or wrestle 133.....who will wrestle 33 next year?

Britton?

Yea let’s all pile on Seabass now ...we all wanted him so bad to come here and now he is a bum ...looks disinterested, ..not a good leader now ...you guys are relentless ...he is an all American ..who the hell cares if it’s third or fourth ...

How long have you been in this board? Come on, you know the drill 😂

Yea I'm the one who said uninterested, I posted that in the 1st period. You tell me super fan when's the last time you've seen Rivera down 8-1 with 2:39 secs. of riding time against in the 1st period? Fvcking grammar school?

65 KG is the key here. He wants to make an Olympic run for Puerto Rico so he’s not shedding any weight as long as that is a goal for him.

I ain't hatin'. Just stating what he's said in previous interviews. Very happy he's a part of team.

For what it’s worth, Andrew Clark is pretty lanky and Dylan Weaver is a lanky kid coming in.

It would be a tough match but he could take on Fix
