NCAA TOURNEY FIRST ROUND DISCUSSION THREAD DAY 2

The way to look at it if it was the "right call" is put your favorite team in place of Seton Hall.

Willard 0-2...BE was overseeded again...and except Nova, hasn't shown anything in recent years...
an experienced shoe team yet again self-destructed...Carrington's blatant walk and the push that was correctly a flagrant...give refs props for making those calls at the end of the game...Arkansas just had more composure...that's on coach and staff...

Wow, SMU player steps out of bounds on the sideline. USC buries a 3.

USC pulls off the upset of SMU. SMU misses layup at the buzzer after both teams missed front end of 1 and 1's

SMU wasted all sorts of time on last possession. Had no chance for a rebound or second chance. Bad.

I'd be beside myself if I was a SMU fan...they look dominant in AAC yet again, get in tourney, and lose to a PAC-10 school as 11 seed in gut wrenching fashion--2 years ago, against a UCLA team, now USC...they found ways to lose...

Terrible last few minutes from SMU who had the advantage and blew it....and they seemed totally unprepared to run that last second shot when they had plenty of time but the guard had puttered around.

Shu lost the same way...you don't win games by playing not to lose. ..there is no tomorrow and USC deseved that win

The Seton Hall loss was because of poor foul shooting and turnovers down the stretch of the game.Sounds familiar to Rutgers disappointing losses.

Pac 12 is the 2nd best conference in the country. I have UCLA to win it all. If Oregon's big man didn't get hurt I think they would have been Final 4. When they were healthy they were the best team I've seen all year

That is not true....if it was RU is 7-24 this year. if michigan doesn't make every 3 they today would have lost by double digits.
Both teams scored 90 points which is a clear indicator that neither team could stop each other from scoring. This happens when teams with shooters have a super offensive performance.Fans like this type game because there is constant back and forth scoring.

Looks like URI and Creighton will be another one staying close and within range all game.

so where does Danny Hurley end up after this season? someone is going to make him an offer. Hopefully it won't be in the northeast
That'll be interesting to see, Patrick. This is clearly his time to cash in, but how attractive is he really? I'm guessing we found out in a couple of weeks.

Illinois has big money to spend but sounds like that want someone with local ties to Chicago area too.

Stupid foul there by Creighton, down 11 with over 4 minutes left, let it get down to 14 seconds on the shot clock and then purposely foul someone 35 feet away from the basket.

The Big East seems to be using up a lot of goodwill in this tournament.

Michigan got beat down the floor quite a few times. Plus they want with Uncan Robinson down the stretch who is an unbelievable shooter but a very weak defender.

3 BE teams out...never deserved 7...but give them credit, the manipulated the system well and created a perception they were stronger than what they actually are...this also happened last year...shall see if Marquette will be # 4 to go...

Delgado should go pro now...Carrington could be an excellent mercenary as a grad transfer...and if I'm Powell, I see what big program can take me...

Delgado is a very very good college player. Not sure how he would do in the NBA, where there are many players bigger and stronger with more versatility.

But let me add, he does have heart.

Granted I am biased due to my sister being a Bruin Alum, but I have UCLA winning it all as well with Zona and Oregon in the FF.

If you can't make foul shots at the end, you could really blow it. RI was ahead by 14 with about 3+ mins left and Creighton begin fouling to extend the game. They never really got close, but it took about 15 mins to finish the game. Coaches don't want to give in if they think the other team can't hit their FTs.. That's why we have to get better.
