Seems like a terrible idea, but I suppose it saves the league some money when it comes to pesky expenses like pads and helmets.

Rugby sevens isn't suicidal. One reason is they have to run a lot. People are too gassed to really blow people up. Players have to be smaller too. Not many 325lb guys could run around a rugby field. Seems like these teams plan to keep play going so that would help. Wonder if guys go both ways.
