Next Week's Fan Advisorary Board Meeting

We talked about this last year, too, and I agree! No reason 175 or so kids should take up 500 seats smack in the middle of the student section. If you put them in the corner, like 132, then THAT section will always look "full," instead of half-empty in the 2nd half, when kids move more towards the center. The one thing I noticed last game (see pic below) was that they DID give the 5 rows or so, above the band, to students. Realistically, 350 member bands can fit in the space out 175/180 do, I see it all the time, but whatever.

Next, they need to "mic" the band again, like they did a couple of years ago, you really can't hear them following a TD.

Also...one more thing....STOP playing "The Bells Must Ring" after the TD. Wait for the damn extra point THEN play it so that the entire stadium is aware of what's going on. During the MSU game I heard at least 2 different things happen:

- played through the words part, following TD, then started all over after XP, going through words a second time, but also...

- played to the XP, stopped, started again

...but, being I can hardly hear them from 121, I'm not 100% sure! Play "Colonel Rutgers" AFTER the TD then "The Bells Must Ring" after the XP. Pretty simple, right?

I think the corners don't have a stairway to the field. Seems like an easy fix though.

Good point and yes, easily fixed. Shoot I've seen bands in the upper halves of corner sections, IIRC in the SEC, maybe Auburn, so they can be heard better AND don't take up "prime" real estate.

The Rutgers buses are in service moving fans from College Ave & the RAC

Yea, I think they can spare 1 bus of their entire fleet to be dedicated to it. It is a weekend which means there are much less normal buses for students anyway.

The R-U chant...on kickoffs we should instruct the stadium to yell R on the kick then U on reception. Think it would sound cool and would get the delay that it seems we never get with the actual chant.

I go to all the away games. I have seen at most if not all the other Big Ten stadiums have flags of all the other schools in the conference flying in the stadium. It would be a nice touch and show pride in our conference mates if we could also do so at HPSS.
I like this recommendation. Classy and inexpensive.

Both of these suggestions have been brought up by me at previous advisory board meetings.

Anybody have suggestions for what the bulk of the meeting will be about: getting students into the game, marketing, and increasing attendance at non-revenue sports?
For increasing non revenue sport attendance provide a bonus point system for attending or buying tickets. I won't buy season tickets but I would attend more games if I was receiving bonus points.

Would love if the crowd could get together on this. The ribbon boards should have the RRRRRR scroll until kick, and then the UUUUUUU scroll after.
