Night games vs. Iowa & Michigan ???

So you admit you weren't at the Penn State or Michigan games but you say the atmosphere was better. Too funny.

If you think the atmosphere for beating an Arkansas team we had beaten on the road the previous year was better than the atmosphere for beating Michigan, the all-time winningest program in college football history at night, then all I can say is that you must have been too drunk at these games to actually pay attention.

I was at the Arkansas game. and the Louisville game...and it was in no way comparable to the Louisville game....but EVERYONE that went to all the games say the PSU and MIchigan games were comparable to Louisville, and that the PSU game was actually better right up until that final minute of Louisville game when everyone stormed the field.

All you have to do is watch the replays and you can see Arkansas was a distant 4th.

It's not even like Arkansas was third. It was a distant 4th.

Like I said and you wouldn't answer...what do you think would be the better atmosphere, PSU at 3:30 or PSU at 8 PM?

You must answer one of them. Failure to answer just shows that you know the answer and aren't willing to admit it. It would go against your narrative.

Go ahead and ask 10 people that went to all 4 games if Arkansas was the second best atmosphere we've had....and i'll sit back and laugh when anywhere from 8 to all 10 of them say no.

Why is that? Because it was dark or we played big games or great teams??
Are you asking me to speak for all 50K fans in attendance? LOL.

As I said above, I think it's the combo of who we are playing and the game time plus how RU is trending and of course the outcome. We have been VERY flat for noon games as a fanbase and only slightly better for 3:30 games on average. I'm talking MD and Cinci in 2007. Both winnable games and we did not make it a hostile environment. Fans sat on their hands all game. All night games seem to be a hostile environment.

We have had a dozen great night games and only lost 2 at the very end (PSU and Ville). You can even go back to Pitt in the 90's when we rented lights in the old stadium pit. Great game, great environment....at night. It is what it is. We had 2 great games at 3:30 where the environment was awesome.

I want us to be like that for every game. Not just big games and not just night games. Every game. But so far, we have been better at night as a fanbase.

First you point is they must be at night to have great atmosphere. Totally false. The Ville game was a frigid Thursday night. Late arriving crowd. Are you saying that with the conference title on the line it would have been worse if it was played on a Saturday afternoon?? Ridiculous. Rutgers had a chance to go to a BCS Bowl Game. True fans would have been there and the place would have been just as crazy.
Penn State it rained most of the day, another late arriving crowd.
Michigan wasn't a prime time 8pm start either.
If you want to make the point that 12pm games are lackluster in NJ, I will agree with you but the fact that these games NEED to be played at night for a better showing, better atmosphere is completely false

Not sure if you are talking to me or Buggsy but I never said it needs to be at 8 PM. It just happens to be better historically. When we grow up as a program and fanbase the starting time of the game will not matter.

If you read my posts above it's not that fact BECAUSE they were at night it was the fact we were playing a big team or in a big spot. I agree night games, because of who we played or what was on the line made them successful. The fact that they were at night isn't the reason they were. I'll repeat. If Rutgers played Norfolk State at night would it make it a great game??

The PSU atmosphere was Louisville-like because of everything leading up to it, being sold out for months, all the anticipation, so many "firsts", the huge TV audience, the BTN Gameday stage set up outside the stadium, all the visiting fans. And if they didn't break that tackle with 2 minutes remaining, it would absolutely have gone down as the greatest atmosphere and night ever.

That wasn't a big hit all. Bad example.
Were you there for the Arkansas post game? The lots stayed packed for hours and not because of traffic.

Who cares if it was a late arriving crowd....by kickoff the PSU game was packed and loud as hell on TV. Deafeningly loud. It was amazing on TV. Way better than the Arkansas game. Same with the Michigan game.

Why don't you understand that games at night add something special to the atmosphere?

Why isn't the Superbowl played during the day? The college football national championship game?

Answer that for me. And still waiting for you to actually say which game would have a better atmosphere at Rutgers....PSU during the day or PSU at night under the lights?

The darkness absolutely does have a huge effect on the crowd when all things are equal. Ask the players themselves which they prefer, night games or afternoon games.

You're just being ridiculous not admitting that.

Do you know what time the Super Bowl kicks off Sunday?? You are dumber than I have ever thought and that is saying something! Too Stupid! [eyeroll]

Thanks for proving my point!

Totally agreed. The Arkansas game doesn't even compare to the PSU or Michigan game.

Like I said, Arkansas game is at best the 4th best atmosphere in Rutgers history....and when it comes down to it.....having been to both....I don't even put the Arkansas game ahead of Pitt night game in old Rutgers Stadium when we brought in rented lights and beat them.

Yes, it kicks off at 6:20 PM and three out of 4 quarters (75 percent of the game) are played in complete darkness...UNDER THE LIGHTS.

You are literally so ill-equipped in the brains department that you've Rutgers a bad name. It's like playing chess against a one month old infant.

WOW, thanks for making my point that playing under the lights is the reason for the great atmosphere.

Buggsy and Dave, save your breath. This guy just doesn't live on the same planet. Plus his tailgates suck..

OK, so even with that, sunset in Santa Clara, CA is 5:31 two hours after it's dark., so the second half of the game is in complete darkness....you idiot.

When the game is on the East Coast, all 4 quarters are in complete darkness....you idiot.

All kidding aside, what really sucks is when we play night games on the West coast. Just saying.

Keep digging a bigger hole clown. So now youre back peddling that as long as its played at some point under lights that's it a great atmosphere. Holy ship!
Doesn't the same apply at a 3:30 start at Rutgers in November?
Please stop.

You're the one who should be embarrassed. Even when the game is on the West Coast, half of it is played under the lights in the dark. At night.

Every single outdoor major sporting event's championship games are played under the lights. God, are you too stupid to see that?

When it's on the East Coast, the entire game is played in darkness under the lights.

Stop while you are behind, White Bus. You're too ignorant and dimwitted to challenge me.

Like I said, ALL major sporting events, including the World Series are held at night. Why is that, you moron?

It's because it is simply a better atmosphere.

Now there isn't one person on here that would agree with you about this. Doesn't that tell you all you need to know?

Im behind??? HAHAHA. You thought the Super Bowl was being played at 6:30. ITS A 3:30pm kickoff asshat.

Buggsy, this is when the ignore button comes in handy. He seeks arguments and talks in circles. Ignore.

You call me an asshat, yet fail to realize the following games are played at night, under the lights:

The Super Bowl
The World Series
The College Football National Championship
The Big Ten Championship Game

Also, The top 4 atmospheres in Rutgers college football history (Louisville, PSU, Michigan, and Pitt games)

Yes, you're behind. Waaaaaaaaay behind. I'm an asshat, you're an asshole.

Buggsy, this is when the ignore button comes in handy. He seeks arguments and talks in circles. Ignore.

It's fun toying with that blowhard. It's not much of a challenge. He is not smart enough.

But it's fun putting that loudmouth in his place.

So a 3:30 start is now a night game?
What don't you get? Really? Are you just pretending to be this dumb?

What makes a great atmosphere is playing under the lights. PERIOD. It's playing in darkness....under the lights. Thats what the kids love. Thats what the fans love.

When a Super Bowl starts at 3:30, half of the game is played under the lights.

Whether the time is 5 PM in the dead of winter, or 8 PM in the fall, it's dark. The game is played under the lights and the energy is amped up.

In Texas, they don't call the high school football craze Friday Daytime Sunshine. They call it friday Night Lights.

It's not rocket science. Stop being so ignorant.

Man you keep back peddling but still look so dumb!

Oh just shut the F up and admit you're in way over your head already.

I've alreay proven you stupid.

Answer me this right now. What would have a better game atmosphere?

RU vs. PSU on a sunny day, or RU vs. PSU under the lights?

None of this either shit. Pick one.

Is it under the lights in the 2nd half or just from the beginning [banana]
You need to figure out what a night game is first before you ask such stupid questions. As I see it if the game starts at 3:30 and at any time they turn the lights in its still a day game. You are the clown that is defining the use of lights as a night game.
What your viewpoint on dome games? Lights are on even at noon

What would have a better game atmosphere? RU playing Penn State at night under the lights....or RU playing Penn State on a sunny day.

Stop piddling around and answer the simple question.

Pick
A - at night under the lights when it's dark outside
or
B - during an afternoon game when there is no need for lights (and on sunny days, they do NOT put the lights on.)

This is what my argument comes down to, because the basis for my argument is that playing at night in the dark... under the lights provides a far more exciting atmosphere than daytime games, and it's not up for debate.

If you won't pick A or B, then I know you know you have lost the argument and you're simply trying to get out of answering it.

Si is it A or is it B?

Answer the question Jackass.

I answered you question 20 posts ago. It doesn't matter. You keep moving the goal line with your stupid post about night game....oh wait now game days that would need lights.
You are a complete idiot, troll and a stalker. You were wrong about the Super Bowl, you admitted you don't go to important games, you admitted that it's not the time of game anymore but the needs for lights. Stay on topic. The posts and my response has always been that big games get big crowds no matter what time kickoff is period. You are the fickle fan that doesn't show up but agrues with those that do. Get off your ass and support the team otherwise you are what you have always been ...a complete loser

So you won't pick one, and won't answer my question. I thought so. I win. Just like I thought I would.

I was right about the Super Bowl. It's a jacked up atmosphere under the lights...just like I said, even on the West Coast, half the game is played in the dark under the lights. On the East Coast, the entire game is played in the dark under the lights.

If you ask 100 people what provides a better atmosphere against the exact same team, a day game or a night game under the lights, at least 90 people would laugh at you for suggesting there is no difference.

You won't answer because you know I am right. Not only are you a fool, you are a coward.

COWARD. White Bus the COWARD for not answering the question.

By the way,I was living in San Diego during the Penn State game two years ago....and was at my niece's wedding for last year's Michigan game. I actually have a life.

Only a complete asshole like you would miss a family member's wedding for a football game....but no one here would be surprised if you did that.

Why do I bother? Like the old expression goes.....You can't win an argument against stupid. You have far too much experience to beat.

You're an incredibly stupid guy, White Bus. I mean painfully stupid. Do you even have a Rutger degree?

Keep coming back with follow ups. I will be right here to shut your stupid ass up every single time.

I'll NEVER put you on ignore, because I'll take every single opportunity to remind you and this board just how little you have going on between your ears. How inferior you are to me intellectually.
.

Buggsy, congrats. You are the first person I have put on ignore. I'm too tired responding to a retard. But I will keeps this thread on watch to show how dumb you are.
Instead of wasting time posting here go support the team some time

The board sees you for what you are. Worthless.

I know you'll be back. You're simply too stupid to walk away after getting yet another intellectual beatdown from me. But for now, I have done my job. I'm currently unavailable as I'm out taking a victory lap.

(laughing out loud at you right now.)
