No. 11 Wrestling At 2025 Big Ten Championships

Not be that guy but northern Colorado would be favored at 125, 141,157 ,165 with toss ups at 184 and 197 against you guys , and Serrano at 133 is no joke he’s beat a few guys Shawver lost too
The only weight classes where Colorado would be clearly favored are 141 and 157.

125 is an edge to NC but it’s pretty much a toss up. The rest Rutgers are favored in, especially if it was at a time where Poz was active. Final score on paper would be like 22-10 or something.

How is that not stalling on Sollars? He did absolutely nothing on top except for lay on top of Casale as he’s trying to get to his feet. That was a complete waste of period and needs to be disincentivized/removed from the sport.

This tournament ended up being a disaster when you count the injuries coming out of it. Yara is extremely injured, Goodale insinuated in his interview he “hopes “ we see SCW again this year and now Peterson is banged up. Yeah we qualified 5 yesterday but 2 of them are hurt and think many thought at least 8-9, even 10 qualifiers 3-4 weeks ago.
2 guys made it to the semi’s

Of the other 8 guys, 6 of them wrestled to or better than their seed. The two that didn’t were Yara who had to MFF and likely would have wrestled to his seed otherwise. Turley is the only guy that truly had a disappointing tournament.

Can’t please everyone.

So you are happy with the injuries. You take everything out of context like you are butt hurt.

Said nothing about performances. Said the injuries made this tournament a disaster.

But also able to be objective vs just Pom Poms all the time. Also why is not ok to ask to overachieve sometimes? It hasn’t been our best tournament. Thought it started well but not as it went on.

And Goodale is not happy either for the record. You could see it in the interview. Its like you are always make an excuse for everyone.

Look at Illinois. We beat them in Dual and 2 finalists and 6 semifinalists. Thats overachieving

I’m as fair as anybody on this board and tend to be a homer. Unfortunately, this tournament is definitely a disappointment and if you don’t admit that you’re lying to yourself.

I feel we have a tendency to play the seed game to justify a lackluster performance. We looked significantly better last year.

And nice job B1G network having the same match in all 3 views.

Can't believe the ref just let Tan Tom influence his call and overturn it as he chirped in his ear the entire time during review. WOW.

We're getting beat up pretty good this round, it's turning into a tournament to forget.

Anybody know what actually happened?
Reversal at the buzzer. First no reversal then Tom chirped right next to the ref the entire time during review and the refs didn't make him back off. Our staff had to tell him he's a douche and get back to your corner but he never left and they let him influence the decision.

Isnt it an independent review upstairs? Not defending his behavior but would that influence it?

And of course doesn’t help to have Bartlett and SVN in the wrestle backs.

This has been a rough weekend. No way to sugar coat it.
Last year it was pointed out how well we wrestled (I was in that group), you can't just pick and choose which ones you wish to highlight. This one ain't good and will go down as one of the poorer performances.

This was matside review. The ref on the mat made the judgement. You can call for an independent review which Maryland did in the Arnold match. I had no idea what the hell was happening when they announced "Maryland has asked for an independent review"

I don’t disagree.

Anyway, no need to pile on more at this point. Let’s just hope Yara and Dean are healthy for Philly because we need them to make deep runs if we have any shot at making noise this year.

Why didn't we stay with the ref if Tom did and just talk over him, and why didn't we ask for an independent review?

what is the difference in the RU staff between this year's disaster, and several of the previous years where RU had some nice Big Ten and NCAA Tourney performances? hmmmm....

White dropped a bad match in SV. His opponent was 5-7 vs D1 competition this year.

So what does this mean for those 3 guys? White, Harer and Turley? All need At Large?
White, Harer, Turley all finished 1 spot out of the auto bids which is good for their at large chances. Staff seemed most fired up about Harer’s win which suggests to me they like his chances the most of those 3.

Yara needs and at large and surely will get one.

Casale finished 2 spots out and his season is likely over.

Anything that could go wrong pretty much went wrong. 3 MFF outs from guys you expected more points, a guy who decided he didn't want to wrestle any longer and no real over achievers (like a Van Brill) with one underachiever. That sums up the 2024 B1G tournament.
