RU up 1-0 early on an AC goal.

Other scores of interest.

Army 17- UMass 4 . That is going to be a tough game.

Maryland 14 - Richmond 13 2OT

Penn St. 19 - Villanova 11 Ament 3-5, O'Keefe 4-3

Virginia 9 -Loyola 3 2nd period.

Faceoffs and goal tending need to improve stat.

Defense has been great but we are giving them no help anywhere else on the field.

Death, Taxes, and Faceoffs

Per current stats, St Johns faceoff guy is 22-26 against us thus far.

22-26!

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!?!?!?

And we are still winning the game 14-8.
Imagine what the score would be if we won just half of the faceoffs?

Based on the stats. not the live action, it looks like the goaltending is solid.

What else is new? Posters in the know defend the recruiting and the coaching chops. Must be RU’s sub-standard facilities, huh?

Good to see a win by 7 ... either the SJU face off guy is good, or RU is the n some serious trouble against better teams.

I watched and came away with same as usual. One position is going to keep Rutgers from making a serious NCAA bid push. Shame they can't recruit the position for sh*t as the team seems solid everywhere else.

I couldn't watch. Was it complete domination starting with the clamp, or were things tied up initially with SJU eventually free the ball?

A couple scrambles where our guys were clueless but for the most part the St. John's kid just dominated. I'd say even if we got all the scrambles St. John's kid still wins by a landslide. It was really bad, but every where else seemed really solid so you do have a team save one position. Hell even the goalie settled down after letting a few easy one's in and played well. But we know how important that one position is.

The kid from St.Johns was A Bridgewater kid that BB did not want. Russo played well but he is a transfer not a recruited kid. The kid they recruited in the goal they cut this fall.
I told you that these were going to be an issue and it will start next week as Army Dominated UMass today. If you think recruiting is not an issue your head is in the sand.

Transfers aren't recruited? And can't be good?

Be interesting to see the Army FO stats. 20-33 last week against what was supposed to be a good FOGO was encouraging. This obviously wasn't. After what they did to a ranked UMASS team today, a 15% win rate next week will be fatal.

Read the post I said he played well. Simply said that he was not recruited by Rutgers and eventually transferred to Rutgers. Maybe I should also point out that Rutgers did not recruit him out of HS either.

They're up 16-8 in the 4rh and the new goalie has a 62% save ratio. The recruiting and coaching sucks?
Where did I say that? This isn’t about the rest of the roster or the development of the program since Spags. The issue is Rutgers continued inability to field a competitive kid at the X.

Can you speak to the faceoff game today regarding the styles of play and particular match up?
I was there and Dugenio dominated in every way he won the clamp he out scrapped them, he popped it forward and broke them (3 TIMES IN A ROW), he won it back to his wing (although he won most for himself). He also had a goal and an assist. Super day by a local kid, scary thought is what will happen against some of the better faceoff kids we see. Arceri from PSU dominated the Nova kid who beat us pretty consistently in our scrimmage. Hopefully, Ott can return soon.

The really scary part is that he fouled three times which means we only won 3 total faceoffs
