I didnt ses the play in question as i missed the first hour of the game getting home from work. But i will say his bat more than makes up for it. We're not playing today if he hadn't been added to the lineup. Not to mention he also made a lot of excellent plays on defense this season. He's gonna be a lineup linchpin for a long time.
1 batter in Vientos shady D shows up

Has to be 10 times this year a mis play was ruled a hit saving an error on Vientos

Iglesias has no clue where to go on the hit to center field. His mistake allowed the runner to advance to second. It's not just him making simple mistakes, it's the lack of fundies throughout the team and that starts with the manager.
Bruh. Today you're gonna take a shot at the manager? He easily finishes in the top 3 in the manager of the year vote.

Nice job by Seve. He started pitching the way you want your pitcher to after being given a nice cushion. Make them put the ball in play, didn't walk anyone and let the defense work for you.

It's a Yankee hate thing. Besides, the reason I mentioned it has to do with everything being magnified in the playoffs. So any imperfections can and may cost you. How many time has the pitcher failed to cover first... PFPs.

After a rough start , Severino pleasantly settled down!

Great job by Butto and by Stanek!

Great clutch hitting !

Wasn’t happy with Winker s antics when he hit the triple as you don’t want to rile up the opponent and especially at their place!

Mendoza just pushes the right buttons !

Love it !

The at the time pieces Stearns added to this team during the spring and along the season turned out to be his baseball genius.None were highly regarded but many he knew from his time with the Brewers. October is about multiple players all playing well at the same time. This is why throwing huge roster breaking finances at Soto would be a mistake. But for now, we have a chance, who knows, maybe another KC vs Mets rematch of 2015.

OMG, that Padres pitcher was fantastic, what a beast. Was he part of that Soto trade just to get him for 1 year? PS. their catcher had a pretty good game also. They might be tougher than the Phillies, we shall see. LGM.

I wouldn't generalize from what Stearns has done so far with the Mets and the messed-up salary structure that he inherited, or his time with the cash-strapped Brewers. I'd just conclude that he knows what he's doing. The Mets barely edged their way into the playoffs. I'm sure Stearns and Cohen have much more in mind for the future, and those teams will likely be built differently from how this team was built. I have confidence, however, in the guy in charge. That's night-and-day from when we had Brodie Van Cellphone-To-His-Ear and the Wilpons making the decisions.

2 perfect innings after the Mets taking the lead was huge.

Credit to Mendoza for giving Seve's the opportunity. In the playoffs it's rare for guys to get a chance to work through struggles. Starter are often pulled way too early. See Brewers.

There was a sideline report during the balt Kc…
Player was told he swings to hard , he’s strong enough , he ended up having a great second half

Someone should tell Alvarez he only has to hit it 400 feet not 800 feet. Too often he swings so hard he might blow out a kidney

Hey, in 1988 the Mets took 11 of 12 from the Dodgers in the regular season and lost to them in the NLCS in 7 games. The Brewers beating the Mets 5 out of 6 means squat in the postseason, just saying.
