Coming back from Arizona. Saw an Atlanta fan 2 days ago on a hiking trail. I said, "No offense, but be gentle with the anemic Mets."

First 2 words were prophetic.

Change the name of the team to the Trash. So many players in the regular lineup who belong on the trash heap. Marte is trash, Baty is trash, Narvaez and Nido are trash, McNeil is trash.

Man, did the Mets ever need that last night!!!

Awesome finish, especially after interviewing Nimmo and talking about Mother's Day, etc. Gotta love baseball.

Had they gotten swept at home by Atlanta, before going to Philly for 4 in a row, things could have gotten very ugly. If they can somehow split with Philly, and end this tough stretch 3-4, they still have a pulse.

Nice to see the 1st place Phils lose. Announcers were crowing about Wheeler's ultra low ERA pre-game, and they jinxed him. The Marlins lit him up for 6 runs.

Mets will not see Wheeler on this series, but they will face ex-Met T. Walker.

Ryan Clifford and Brandon Sproat are getting promoted to AA. Team is getting stacked. Jesus Baez is going to have a lot of helium. Putting up good numbers and his statcast data is there to back it up.

MLB Pipeline has issued his first 2024 update, timed to reflect that the 2024 rookies have just graduated off the list. The Mets of course have no graduates at this time. But there were some modest changes. Scott and Acuna swapped positions (3 and 5). Tong entered the list at #20. Lavender fell off, no doubt due to TJS. Interestingly, Ziegler stayed on.

Mets in updated MLB Pipeline Top 100

35 - Jett Williams
43 - Drew Gilbert
58 - Christian Scott
78 - Ryan Clifford
80 - Luisangel Acuna

Odd promotion on the surface for Clifford.

I was going to make this update for the start of the week. We have a lot of lower level bats that are going to rise up our rankings big time. Jesus Baez leading that pack.

Odd promotion on the surface for Clifford.
Yes and no. He's walking a ton and showing good patience. He's never going to be a high average hitter. He also has mentioned that he has problems seeing the ball in Brooklyn and it's a notorious power sapper for left handed hitting. I think once he gets settled in AA his number will look better.

Also forgot to mention that Joel Diaz who was a big arm for us that went through TJS has been getting some rehab time for FCL Mets which is a nice sign. Be good to get another upside arm going.

Good luck in school today. Don't forget your bookbag. And those kids will stop bothering you. Just stand up for yourself.
The last thing i'm worried about is getting bullied by Atlanta fans son. Even living in their backyard. 2 championships in the last 70 or so years is all they have to hang their hats on across all sports. Most of them are more psychologically damaged than RU fans.

Believe it or not but get away day. Mets aren't getting away very far as both teams have to make the long trip from NY to Philly.
Just saw that. Weird, but makes sense since they are so close and need to play each other a bunch anyway.

Yeah you don't normally see a home and away 4 game series like this. I know the Mets/Yanks have had it in the past but otherwise nothing else coming to mind.

I suspect the fact that they are playing two games in the UK, which took a home game away from each team, was a factor in this scheduling.

Umps F’d the Mets. But Diaz also looks pretty ordinary. Add him to the list of very average players on this roster.
