Hoping someone is able to recommend a good golf instructor at a decent price in the Red Bank area. I just started taking up the game and need an instructor who is proficient at teaching beginners.

Thomas jaeger is very good. He was NJ PGA teacher of year in 2009. Took a lesson recently with him and liked it. He is one of best in NJ. Located at spring meadow golf club in farmingdale.

Otherwise just call ur local driving range or public course.

I would second Yeager.

Lessons, both private and group, are also available through the Monmouth County Park System at several of the County courses. My wife is taking some now and is really enjoying it. FYI, if you are unaware of the County courses, look into it. We have a nice system.

Find someone that is recommended then sign up for 6 lessons. Need to practice to get better. Take a lesson every 3 weeks with practice in between and it will be the best investment you could ever make.

Dale Shankland. A bit more south but very good. Look him up. His brother is a top 15 instructor.

Lots of instruction options at this driving range and executive course from group classes to individual lessons: http://totalgolfschoolnj.com My instructor for a few years, Pat Jordan, was a previous Rutgers Womens Golf Coach. She is really good. Quail Ridge Golf Range, Route 34, Wall (1/2 mile north of I195).
